Read the Google reviews for Four Guys and a Truck and the same handful of names keeps surfacing — Chris on crew after crew, then Hans, Anthony, Mauricio, Jackie, and Lori working the phones. Customers name them. That is rare in moving reviews, where the crew usually stays anonymous, and it is the clearest thing about this Amherst company: the same people keep showing up, and the people who hired them remember which ones. The written history runs deep — 144 reviews since 2021 across five sites, 4.9 from 145 ratings on Google, and 4.9 again on both Angi and HomeAdvisor, each showing eleven reviews. Ten of those reviews landed in the last six months, none of them negative. What customers describe goes well beyond the standard house-to-house job. In November 2025 someone had them load a U-Haul for a cross-country drive; in September 2025 another had a crew unload a 20-foot U-Haul that had just come in from Texas. In July 2025, when PODs pushed a delivery back at the last minute, they reworked the schedule and did the unload anyway. In August 2025 a crew spotted water-damaged furniture in a storage unit and went through the rest before anything moved into the new house. Longer hauls turn up too: Easthampton to Wakefield, Rhode Island in November 2025, Northampton to Agawam that October. One February 2026 review earns its own line. A customer who says he owns a moving company himself, up in Haverhill, hired Four Guys instead of sending his own crew west — booked on the call, done in three hours. Price is the thing to settle before booking, and the specifics are on the page. A March 2024 reviewer was quoted $495 to pick up one refrigerator and move it half an hour, called it absurd, and later added that the owner had emailed to explain the figure came from minimum service fees — which that customer said were not in the pricing FAQ. In December 2025 another described a $200 charge for boxes they had moved themselves, on top of a three-hour minimum for an unload that took under an hour; that one ended with the owner working out a resolution and the reviewer raising the score. Cutting the other way, a September 2025 customer said this was the least expensive of four Western Massachusetts estimates they collected. For a Pioneer Valley move, and especially a partial one — a POD to empty, a U-Haul to load, a storage unit to clear — this is a straightforward call. Ask what the minimum covers and get the box and materials charges in writing, and you will have priced the job the way the two unhappy reviewers wish they had.
