Friendly Home Improvement is a one-person shop at 89 Middle Rd in Acushnet, owned by Arthur Peirce, and it has advertised a wide book of work for southeastern Massachusetts — additions, remodels, vinyl siding, kitchen and bathroom work, windows and doors, roofing and decks. It also trades under the plural spelling 'Friendly Home Improvements' on BuildZoom and Houzz, at the same address and phone. The first thing to weigh is not a review at all. The Better Business Bureau carries an alert on this business reading 'Out-of-Business known or suspected', and gives it no rating for that reason. BuildZoom separately flags 'No active license on file' and reports that it could not verify a licence with the licensing board, scoring the company 0. Houzz shows a self-listed 'License Number 30396' that nothing here confirms. The customer record splits sharply along a date line. Five accounts, all five-star, run from December 2019 to June 2020. A January 2020 Houzz reviewer described porch boards, replacement windows, a roof and a full bathroom gut done across several jobs and called the company "fair and always upfront and honest"; a December 2019 HomeAdvisor customer noted the owner was on site with the crew for the whole job. Then in May 2022 a homeowner writing on BuildZoom rated a $140,000 whole-house remodel with dormers and porch one star out of five, writing "Do not hire them. Constant lying and deceit. All hack work and refuses to finish after being paid in full." That is the most recent written account of this company's work anywhere, it concerns the largest job on record, and it alleges non-completion after full payment. Anyone considering this contractor should first establish whether the business is still trading at all, then confirm a current Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration directly with the Office of Consumer Affairs before any money changes hands. The good accounts here are six years old; the serious one is the newest.
Do not hire them. Constant lying and deceit. All hack work and refuses to finish after being paid in full. My worst experience ever.
They were excellent, did a great job, very nice, on time.
I have had Friendly Home Improvements do numerous jobs for my house, from replacing boards on my porch, replacement windows, my roof, to a total bathroom gut. They are fair and always upfront and honest. They are the only contractor i will use.
Amazing job. The best job I've ever had. They're clean, efficient, they pay attention to detail. Their work is impeccable. Amazing work.
It was very good. They were very neat and clean. The owner was on site the whole time working with the crew, which was nice. He was also a military. I was very happy with the service.
