Frye's has been working the Merrimack Valley longer than most crews have been in business. The company says it started in 1984 doing general landscaping and has since grown into a landscaping and hardscaping provider, and it puts its time in the trade at 42 years. It runs out of Haverhill and lists a service area stretching from Amesbury, Newburyport and Salisbury down through Andover, North Andover, Lawrence and Ipswich. The work it advertises covers both ends of a property: landscape design and installation, ongoing maintenance, irrigation, and delivery of bulk landscaping products, for residential and commercial clients alike. There isn't much customer history to go on — nine Google ratings averaging 4.1, and five written reviews spread across three sites since 2022. What's there pulls in two directions. The most recent one, from this past February, is from a customer who uses a handicap space and couldn't get into their car until the crew came out and cleared the snowbank pinned against the passenger door. An older one-star review runs the other way, faulting a driver's conduct and saying the company didn't respond when the customer raised it. Two things worth asking about. How they handle a complaint is the one thread a past customer pulled without getting anywhere, so ask who owns a problem once a crew is on site. And with a sample this small, ask for recent references on a job like yours rather than leaning on the star average. For maintenance, a hardscape project or a bulk material delivery in the Haverhill–Newburyport corridor, they're worth a quote — pin down scope, timeline and your point of contact before the trucks roll.

I recently dealt with two drivers from Frye’s Landscaping. While one was relatively more professional, the thinner driver was exceptionally rude and unhelpful, making our interaction very unpleasant. I reached out to the company to address this behavior, but they completely ignored my concerns. Very disappointed.
