G.W. Wagner Plumbing says it has been in business for 27 years and describes its work as serving Rhode Island homeowners, with office hours through 3:30 PM and 24/7 emergency service. A recent Google customer with a sump pump issue and a nor'easter on the way says G.W. returned the call promptly, and that the technician arrived early and got the job done. A recent customer praised Tiago and called the service fast and professional. A recent customer who paid $1,935 says a master plumber and an assistant were both billed, that the labor charge ran about an hour and a half longer than the time worked, and that a hole cut in the wall to reach the plumbing was left unrepaired with fixtures left loose. That customer says no itemized invoice was provided and that the company did not respond to a Better Business Bureau complaint. A recent customer paid $415 to have a well-water filter changed, says no price was given before the work, and says the office could not break down the charge; six other plumbing companies had quoted $270 or less. In a 2021 BuildZoom review, a customer said Glen came out immediately for a leak but no one called back, and that a later appointment was cancelled an hour after the appointment time. A 2019 customer said that after a water heater in their three-family residence went out on a Sunday, a new one was installed and working by 1:00 PM Monday. A 2021 customer said the price was a little more than planned but a lot less than another plumbing company's quote, and that they showed up within a couple hours of the call. A 2020 customer said they showed up on time and fixed both issues at a reasonable fee. On Google the company holds 4.4 stars from 204 ratings, and its Better Business Bureau grade is C+, with one complaint listed.
G.W. was prompt in returning my call, which was especially appreciated with a sump pump issue and a nor’easter on the way. Communication was excellent, technician arrived early, and got the job done. Great service from G.W. Wagner!
Excellent service! Fast, professional and Tiago was absolutely fantastic! Thank you.
I would never use Wagner Plumbing again, and I strongly caution others to think twice before hiring them. My experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. A master plumber and an assistant came to my home, and I was billed for both workers. I was also charged for approximately an hour and a half more labor than the time they actually spent working at my house. To access the plumbing, they cut a hole in my wall. While I understand that sometimes this is necessary, they left the wall unrepaired. Even worse, after reinstalling the plumbing fixtures, they failed to caulk around them, leaving fixtures loose that had been secure before they started the job. The final bill was extraordinarily expensive, $1,935.00 to be exact, yet I was not provided with an itemized invoice explaining exactly what I was paying for. When I called to request an itemized bill and questioned the charges, I was simply told that they do not issue refunds. There was no meaningful attempt to address my concerns or explain the billing. I then filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in hopes of resolving the matter professionally. According to my experience, Wagner Plumbing did not respond to the BBB complaint. As a customer, I expect honest billing, quality workmanship, transparency, and accountability. In my experience, Wagner Plumbing fell short in every one of those areas. I was left with a damaged wall, unfinished work, unanswered questions about my bill, and what I believe was an excessive charge for the services provided. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Wagner Plumbing.
Prompt and friendly service
This Plumbing company came to my house and changed a filter. I already had the filter. All they had to do was unscrew the housing, gently rinse, and clean it put the new filter in and screw it back on. I usually do it myself, but at the moment, I am unable to walk I was not given a price beforehand. I received the estimate after the work was done. I was not told the price by the service tech before the work started. I paid $415 for something that I was quoted 270 and less by six other plumbing companies that I called after seeing what I was paying for this company When I called when I called this companies office to get a breakdown of the price they could not give me a breakdown they couldn't tell me any kind of hourly rate. I was told that it is a by the job cost, but could not tell me why it cost $400 for them to twist off an easily reached filter. It was not in a crawlspace or anything like that. All they could tell me was it was because they were in East Providence and I was in Richmond. I asked them if my travel price would be different if they came from a different job first and he couldn't answer it. They weren't supposed to be here until noon time and they showed up around 9:30 not that showing up early is necessarily a bad thing but the fact they were scheduled for 12 and their estimate didn't show up till 1120. They need to get things more in order the fact that they couldn't break down their cost is also very concerning. I picked them out of Google search which I've had good luck with in the past, unfortunately not this time. You can see the photos of my invoice and of how easy access my filter is the service tech literally unscrewed it cleaned the filter, housing and put my filter in and screw it back on I figured around $200 give or take not $400. This was excessive. please excuse the fact that my filter and already orange. I have a crazy amount of iron in my well water. Yes, I know I need a better filter system. Since I can't reply to your response i'm going to respond here so other people can see. you didn't show up at the first convenient time as you were supposed to show up the day before now. Yes, your service guy did get an accident and I'm very glad that he is OK as that's the most important thing, but you came to me at the most convenient time for you. You were supposed to show up at 12 PM today showed up at 9:30. The guy didn't even walk up to my front door as there's a sign that says don't knock. Call my cell phone and cell phone number to talk to me the owner anyways no one including the office people or the service tech gave me pricing in any way shape or form before you did the Work I received your estimate at 11:20 after your guy did the work which was super helpful and after calling six different licensed plumbers you are almost $200 over everybody I contacted you're right I'm not happy with your pricing and I will make sure that anybody that read this knows exactly what you do. Charging $415 for changing a filter which he did not have to diagnose I called said the filter needed to be changed. I already have the filter, but I have recently become unable to walk and cannot change it myself. You didn't diagnose anything.technically under 15 minutes is absolutely ridiculous. It wasn't an emergency call. You didn't fit me in in an already full schedule, so don't act like you did me this big favor and then I got upset at the price. You did average work and charged Above average pricing not even Above average Above everybody that I called which was yes only six places, but I have never heard of a place not being able to give you a breakdown of their pricing I called and talked to the office person and they could not tell me the breakdown of The $415 that you charged me for work that should've been at Max 200. Maybe a little over 200. You didn't have to crawl into Into a crawl space you didn't have to go in a well hole you walked into my back room unscrewed the cartridge housing, wiped it out put the new filter that I already purchased into it and screwed it back in.
