Patrick Gannon has been running general-contracting jobs on the South Shore since the 1990s, and the calls that got positive write-ups all follow a pattern: an addition, a dormer, a garage tacked onto an existing house. One homeowner had a family room, two bedrooms and a two-car garage added on; another said the dormer on their cape came out beyond what they expected. The company works out of the Weymouth/Cohasset area and takes on remodeling, kitchens, bathrooms, decks, roofing and siding, per its own Better Business Bureau listing. The written reviews on file run from 2002 to 2010 and are consistently positive: homeowners describe Patrick Gannon himself returning calls quickly, listening to rough sketches, and in one case finishing a job ahead of the four months quoted. A couple of reviewers flagged minor friction — a string of missed phone connections in one case, sloppy plaster work from a subcontractor in another — but still said they'd hire the company again. The Better Business Bureau currently grades the business A+, though it is not a BBB Accredited Business. Before booking, a few things are worth asking about directly. A 2019 report and a legal-database entry describe a lawsuit in which former clients accused the owner of misrepresentation, fraud and mishandling of payments on a construction job; the same wording turns up in more than one place online, but no outcome is stated in what's available. BuildZoom's own license listing for the company shows one Massachusetts home-improvement-contractor number it marks active, three more it marks inactive, and a fifth its own page calls both "Active" and expired since December 2022 — worth confirming directly with the state. Directories also disagree on how long the company has operated (17, 26, or roughly 30 years depending on the source) and on its current address (Weymouth versus Cohasset). For a South Shore addition, dormer or garage project, the written history from people who actually hired Patrick Gannon reads well — confirm the current address, ask to see a license number directly, and ask about the 2019 litigation before signing a contract.

Thq quality of the work is superior! They came up w/ solutions we would've never thought and it looks great. If this was combined with an excellent project communication plan so I knew what was happening when, then the team would be unstoppable. Would definitely use again but would insist on sitting down and mapping the project time line first. (For my own comfort)
