Gardens of Delight describes its work on its Houzz profile as residential ecological landscape design. A 2016 customer said Julie Meyer proposed three initial designs for a yard renewal project and, once a base design was picked, kept suggesting alternatives based on the soil, sun and water conditions in the yard. That 2016 customer wrote that the base design first picked could have cost three times as much as the final cost. A 2013 customer said Julie Meyer of Gardens of Delight came up with a plan for the yard covering both hardscape and plant material. A 2012 customer wrote that Julie had been helping develop and tend the customer's gardens for several years, and that she arranged and rearranged schedules by phone or email. A 2015 customer praised Julie's knowledge of the soil.
Working with Julie Meyer on my yard renewal project was a wonderful experience. Before starting to work with her, all I could think of was the fact that I needed more green and more privacy in my yard in a relatively natural way. I didn’t have very specific design concepts in my mind. In our conversations, Julie was able to ask all the right questions not only to come up with multiple broad design plans but also the details of kind of plants, materials…etc that would fit my lifestyle and preferences. Three initial designs she proposed were different enough that I was able to see what I’m drawn to very easily. Once we picked a base design, she continued coming up with alternative suggestions based on soil, sun, water conditions in my yard. And she was extremely flexible in terms of cost. What I initially picked as a base design could have easily cost three times as much as the final cost. Julie has both impressive design skills as well as technical knowledge of everything you can hope. And she’s very prompt and detail oriented, without being narrow-minded. I cannot imagine a better experience.
It was an immense pleasure working with Julie. Her artistic and design sensibilities are fantastic; her knowledge of the soil and all that can grow within knows no bounds and her easy and warm personality make working with her pure and simple fun!
Julie Meyer of Gardens of Delight came up with a unique plan for my yard--both in terms of hardscape and plant material--and a design I would never have imagined and absolutely love. I have had nothing but compliments on it from visitors and passersby. Working with Julie and her associates is always fun and has even inspired me to take a master gardening course. I have gained the confidence to make some additions of my own to the landscaping in the last few years, but I continue to seek advice from Julie.
Julie has been helping me to develop and tending my gardens for several years. She is knowledgeable, creative, collaborative, punctual, strong of body (very essential for this 64-year-old!) and very good at communicating via phone or email to arrange and rearrange schedules, which she does promptly and clearly. In addition, she is just plain fun to work with out there in the garden! I couldn't ask for more. Randi Stein
