GDI Home Services works the big end of Milton remodeling: 31 permitted projects on file with BuildZoom, mostly six-figure additions, alterations and whole-room rebuilds, with window, roof and siding replacements alongside them. Keith Pentland owns it, and it operates from 28 Winthrop St in Milton. The written record is thin and old. One review exists, posted in March 2013, and it is a 2-star account of a master-bath remodel that began in October 2012 and wasn't finished until February 2013. That homeowner was careful to separate the trades from the management — the subcontractors, they wrote, were excellent; what frustrated them was the coordination, being left hanging when subs couldn't be lined up, and being asked the same questions about orders over and over. Thirteen years on, that single complaint is the whole written history, which is a reason to ask questions rather than a verdict on how the company runs today. BuildZoom lists an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration for the business, number 146950, issued in February 2026 — that is the directory's own entry, not a registry check. It also carries a second Massachusetts HIC number, 128241, which it marks inactive and reports as having been cancelled at some point. If you're planning an addition or a gut remodel in Milton, the permit history says they have done that work repeatedly and at scale. Ask who runs the schedule day to day, how subcontractors get booked, and which registration number is the current one so you can check it against the state yourself.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from GDI Home Services. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.

We hired GDI to remodel our master bath in October 2012. It did not get finished until February 2013. We take some of the responsibility as we had added on more tiling work, but it always felt as those we were an afterthought. The subcontractors were excellent. It was the coordination by the contractor that left us feeling as though we were talking to a used car salesman. At one point he asked my wife if she liked the bathroom which wasn't even half done. We always felt as though, he was in a hurry to get this job over and done with, but then we were left hanging on several occasions because he couldn't get the subs in for a variety of reasons. Also, on many occasions he would ask me the same questions regarding orders we had placed. He must have asked me at least five times did we order the hardware for the vanities, among other things. I know he means well, but I would definitely not recommend him to our friends. Too scattered. Too disorganized.
