Gentle Giant Moving Company's Portsmouth office holds a 4.9-star Google average across 197 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. A recent customer moving from a rental house in Portsmouth to a condo in Portsmouth got a quote within hours, found three other area firms at almost twice the price, and said two people showed up on time and finished within the time estimate. A recent customer said a man came to the home to assess the move before a straightforward estimate was sent, and that Eli fixed a knob on a bureau without being asked. A recent reviewer described a move from storage units in NH to a ski house in Stowe VT, made the morning after a snow event and barely delayed. A recent customer said an antique grandfather clock was carefully packed and moved. In a 2025 review, a customer said a team of six with two trucks loaded a townhouse in under 90 minutes, finished 9 minutes early and came in slightly under the quoted amount. The company says it has been in business 46 years, and its website lists a service area that includes Nashua, Manchester, Concord, Portsmouth, Rye and York. A 2022 customer gave four stars and said a lamp was not packed, leaving its shade soiled, and that a glass table was chipped.
Excellent experience from start to finish. Crew was professional, polite, and worked hard to make for a very smooth move.
Five stars for this crew who truly were gentle and professional. Austin, Liam, Rocco and Asa showed up on time, worked quickly and carefully, and were incredibly patient when things didn’t go exactly as planned (not their fault). They helped problem solve and were extremely patient. Highly recommend trusting them with your move.
Overdue on this review- we scheduled a move from some storage units in NH to a ski house in Stowe VT and Gentle Giant was amazing from start to finish. We also had a custom made table delivered to their warehouse facility for a day or two before the move and they were incredibly accommodating. Our closing date moved and GG remained flexible and accommodating. Of course there was a snow event the night before/morning of our move (~3 hr drive) and it barely phased GG team and they made it to the new property safely and barely delayed. Price was more reasonable than most, but still with top-tier professionalism. They will be my only call next time!
Fantastic!! Quick, efficient and friendly!
we have had needed movers a number of times in the last 10 years, and each time we called upon Gentle Giant and without fail, the move has gone like clockwork. The guys have been thoughtful, caring and considerate.
