Gerald W Madore Construction, run out of Wales, is a general contractor whose clearest documented job is a $30,000 home project completed in 60 days β the kind of scope-and-budget renovation the business's permit history backs up. In a 2015 review, a customer described a major project done well enough that their architect, stopping by near completion, told them whatever they'd paid was worth it, adding that isn't always the case with every contractor. Permits on file span 2002 to 2020: a second-floor addition, stair and deck repair, and laundry hookups in Worcester, plus four 2020 commercial sign installations across Hingham, Methuen, Chicopee, and Taunton. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (#122855) is registry-verified expired. Separately, owner Gerald Madore holds a Construction Supervisor license that BuildZoom reports verifying as active as of July 2026 β a distinct, individual license from the expired business registration. Anyone hiring for home improvement work should confirm the HIC registration has been renewed before signing a contract; the active construction supervisor license doesn't substitute for it under Massachusetts law.
Gerry did a major project for me, and he was excellent! My architect stopped by near completion to check out the project's development and commented to me that his work was very well done, reporting that WHATEVER I paid him, it was well worth it! He admitted this is not always the case, not with every contractor for sure, but that I had found a good one! I agree. I am and was very happy with his work, and plan to hire him for another project in the near future.
