Most of the stories here start with something going badly wrong: a house fire that left a family's home condemned, a warehouse gutted by a blaze in late 2022, a foot of water across a basement from a failed hot-water tank, a flood discovered on the way home from a deployment. The company says Rivet founded it in 2006 after 22 years on jobsites, that it has built more than 100 custom homes and over 200 additions since, and that it is and will remain Army veteran owned. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, held in Richard Rivet's name, and the BBB accredits the business at an A+. The BBB page also lists a Massachusetts construction supervisor license for the company, the same number the company's own site gives as CSL #80106.
Day to day the work is wide: siding, roofing, decks, additions, kitchens, finished basements. A December 2025 customer had new siding and windows put on. A November 2025 homeowner had the house re-sided, a third-floor balcony added and the back deck remodeled, working with Rich and with Tom, who runs the siding side. An April 2024 roof went on in a single day and beat the other estimates, that customer wrote. Another 2025 client has the company restoring a historic property — replica windows cut to the original detail, modern mechanical systems tucked in behind them.
Across 38 Google ratings, every one of them five stars, the word customers reach for is honesty. A February 2026 reviewer put it as plainly as anyone: Richard was honest and easy going. A June 2026 homeowner dealing with water and mold damage said he was kept in the loop the whole way, and one considering a roof repair in June 2026 got the job laid out in a detailed written outline before anything started.
The dissenting account is old and about the front end, not the work: in November 2015, someone on BuildZoom wrote that Rivet came out to look at a project, said he would not waste their time, and that no quote or call ever followed.

Trust and integrity are the number one things that come to mind with Cedar Falls -- the work was excellent, the crews were skilled and professional, and the project looks great.
