The work itself is asphalt and trees. Porch lists asphalt cutting, paving, removal and repair; Angi lists paving and tree removal, with wood fence repair among its category tags. The good accounts are specific. In March 2021 a Porch customer described a backyard fence put in fast enough in December cold to keep a new puppy contained, priced below every other quote they had, then a large tree threatening their barn taken down within a day of the call and the yard left clean. In August 2023 an Angi customer listed a run of small jobs — regrading, loaming and seeding a backyard, concrete repaired around a pool, a post set for an electrical box — started the same week and finished in the window quoted. The complaint is equally specific, and it is the reason to slow down. In August 2020 a Porch customer wrote that concrete steps came out pitched forward with a ten-inch rise, said the result was not to Massachusetts code, and that after a repair was agreed the contractor stopped answering calls and texts. How long they have been at it depends on where you look: Angi shows the business as established in 2003 with 23 years of experience while also claiming over 45, and Porch reports 1985. Nothing has been written about them since August 2023, which leaves the current picture thin. Sensible to consider for paving, tree removal or a straightforward fence — put the scope, the finish spec and the code requirements in writing, and if concrete steps or walkways are part of the job, ask directly how the 2020 dispute was resolved.

I've hired burb for several jobs this month , him and his guys have regraded and loomed and seeded my backyard , and fixed the broken concrete around my pool , installed a post for an electrical box too he gave me an awesome price and was able to start the job the same week , everything has come out great and was finished in the timeline he gave me , I will definitely use him again
We’ve hired John and his crew for two projects so far on our new home. In December he installed a fence in our backyard and was able to get the job done quickly to keep our new puppy enclosed, and did the job at a much more reasonable price than any other place we had reached out to. He and his crew worked literally dawn til dusk in cold December weather to get it done fast. We were very please with the outcome so we also hired him to remove a large old tree that was at risk of crushing our barn. He was able to come out and remove the tree within a day of me reaching out to him. Yard was left spotless and he even cut up the wood into small manageable pieces for us to use in our fire pit since he knows we love to have backyard fires. We will absolutely be contacting Gr8 Work for future jobs.
this company is a total sham. I had them come out to demolish sidewalk and stairs and to form up and repair concrete. I asked Jon whether he did aggregate work and he replied he did. I paid an additional 5 hundred for this service. The day of the pour he had his finisher in (who said he's done aggregate work) only to find out it wasn't done correctly. The steps poured were at a 3.5 in pitch forward which not only wasn't unto Mass Code but were way to steep. Also had one step that was a 10 inch rise. After all of this the only thing I wanted is for the pathway and steps be redone. I elected to repair an additional 2 inches on top of existing concrete. The forms were again set up and since then He refuses to answer phone calls or texts. This guy shouldn't be allowed on any contractor site as he will take your money and run
