Granite State Land Management's website describes mechanized whole-tree land clearing for house lots, pasture reclamation and full-parcel work, priced by the acre, not by the tree. The site lists a service area that includes Grafton, Merrimack, Strafford, Plymouth, Laconia, Concord, Meredith, Wolfeboro and Hanover. In a 2025 review, a customer said Jon opened up and cleared their lot in preparation for a home build, constructed a temporary road into the site to get the logging trucks off the road, and provided daily progress updates and photos. A 2025 reviewer said Jon did all the leg work with their city manager and engineer to ensure a land clearing project was up to code. Another 2025 reviewer wrote that the view that drew them to the property is back, and that Jon left some solitary oaks to give a park-like feel. In a 2023 review, a customer who chose a track loader at a daily rate for two days of forestry mulching said about an acre was cleared by the end of day one, with another acre or more done by the end of day 2. A 2023 review signed from Big Squaw Mountain in Greenville, Maine, said GSLM was on time and on budget reclaiming 20 years of growth on steep black diamond trails, and that the contract was extended to include more terrain.
“LRCT has contracted Granite State Land Management who specializes in invasive removal to conduct the Brush Management this fall”
I have my mountain back! I bought this place because of the view but after about 15 years and 7 of them after I moved in and now it's back. Jon is skilled and intuitive, knows his machine very well, can read the terrain well, leaving me some solitary oaks to give that park-like feel. I'm very happy with the results and I am planning on maintaining this and expanding in a few years. The deer are happy, too.
Jon did a wonderful job opening up and clearing our lot in preparation for our home build. Our site is logistically challenging and he worked with us to find the optimal areas for loading equipment and skidding out the logs to ease those challenges. He did a great job constructing a temporary road into our site to get the logging trucks off the road and onto the property. His communication was top notch through the entire process and he provided daily progress updates and photos throughout. We will have Jon back to continue more selective clearing as part of a Phase 2 on our property and we look forward to that process.
Fantastic work with a very cost effective price point! Jon is a professional expert and his communication throughout our entire land clearing project was superb. He even did all the leg work with our city manager and engineer to ensure the project was up to code and that any deviations from the current policy were properly requested and approved. We will be contracting with Granite State Land Management again in the near future! Thank you!
From Day 1 of the bidding process, Granite State Land Management provided clear communication with a detailed estimate and breakdown of the job. The drone technology and software added an advantage over other bidders. On site, GSLM was on time and on budget, successfully reclaiming 20 years of growth on steep black diamond trails. We were so satisfied with the quality of work, that we extended the contract to include more terrain. Even at 3,000’ in elevation, the job was no problem for the crew or the equipment. The transformation of the landscape is unbelievable, exceeding expectations. We are so happy to recommend Granite State for any land management needs. I know we will be using them again. We contacted Jon in late February 2023 about doing some forestry mulching to open a couple of acres on our property. Upon our initial meeting he was very polite and professional. We spent about an hour walking the area that we were looking to open up and discussing trees we wanted to leave, our different options (excavator or track loader), and what our expectations were for the final product. Based on Jon's recommendation, we decided to go with the track loader at a daily rate for two days. When Jon arrived to start the project, we discussed again what the expectations were, leaving all hardwoods over 5" in diameter and removing dead, diseased, and any conifers that we couldn't get good lumber from. Based upon our conversation, how dense the forest was in the area he was working, and the amount of water we have in the area, we assumed he would get about an acre cleared over the two day period. Jon undersold his abilities dramatically and by the end of day one we had about an acre cleared and he was able to move to another area. At the end of day 2, we had another acre or more done. We are extremely happy with what Jon was able to get done for us and have him scheduled to come and do our driveway next. We would absolutely recommend Jon if you are looking to get any mulching done and plan on using him again over the next couple of years to clear up about another 40-50 acres for us. The pictures below don’t do the work justice. For frame of reference I've included a photo of an adjacent area that is close to the density of the areas he did. Jon, thank you again, if we could give 10 stars we would. We look forward to working with you soon!
