Granite State Painters

Granite State Painters says it has been in business for 14 years, offers free estimates and lists a service area that includes Portsmouth, Greenland, Dover, Durham, Exeter and Hampton. A customer said salesperson Eric explained how the cabinets would be done, and that Maddie and Max handled the door removal and masked the walls, ceilings and inside cabinets before painting. A customer who used them for kitchen cabinets said they also replaced the hardware and changed the hinges to soft close, for just a few thousand dollars. A customer who had kitchen cabinets painted called the company slightly more expensive than other painters and said the quality and guarantee were worth the added expense. A customer whose house was painted said the estimator told them how much each section of the house would cost so they could choose what to paint, that the team cleaned up each evening, and that owner Matt Johnson helped them find a carpenter team to replace unpaintable shingles on the chimney and had the shingles painted before they went up. A customer described a five-room interior job with multiple paint colors, painted woodwork, color-drenched walls, ceilings and trim, and said they were told the company keeps a spreadsheet of every customer's colors for future touch-ups. A customer said Dylan, the crew manager, kept them informed about each day's plan and progress. A customer said the company refinished their mahogany porch in 2026 and had painted the exterior of their house in 2023. A 2024 customer said their builders had intended to stain an exterior renovation but ran out of time; that customer said Matt came out to evaluate the job, sent a quote within a day, and that the crew finished on time even after the initial job was expanded. A 2025 customer said Dylan and his crew repainted the entire interior of a condo they had recently purchased and sent daily updates with photos while they were away. A wmur.com piece carries the headline "Granite State Painters transform homes with passion, precision." A 2022 customer updated an earlier positive review to say the paint was cracking within months, that some walls had to be painted many times, and that they hired another company to fix the work; that 2022 customer said the cracking paint was still there nearly two years later.
