Reviewers keep starting the story at the sales visit. In a 2024 review, a homeowner who called several companies in 2021 wrote that Granite State Solar was the only one that sent someone to the house instead of working off Google Earth, and the only one who knew New Hampshire's net-metering rules cold. A January 2026 customer chasing the expiring federal tax credit got a drone survey and a detailed proposal the same night, before paying or signing anything. The Bow company's New Hampshire electrician licence, number 0366C, is active. Its Better Business Bureau grade is A+, and 230 Google ratings average 4.8 across 140 written reviews going back to 2021. The installs tend to land the way they were described. In an October 2025 review, a customer said their advisor met the town building inspector over fire code and came back with more panels than anyone else had quoted; eighteen months on, the utility sent a $390 credit refund. A 2021 reviewer described a four-hour install that left the site as though nobody had been there, and a first full month on the system that fell from $70 to $7.89. In November 2025 another credited the company with pushing permits through in time to beat the federal rebate deadline. The work runs past panels, too — battery backup, Tesla Powerwalls, standby generators, EV chargers, even a 100-to-200-amp service upgrade turn up in reviews. The friction sits after the system is on the roof. A 2025 reviewer whose array went in during August 2022 said it stops reporting often, and disputed being told the panels couldn't go on a ledge, then being charged extra to drill through ledge in a field they say has none. A 2023 reviewer listed a $2,000 surcharge for paying by financing, two appointments rescheduled at short notice, and consumption monitoring left off a system whose hardware supports it. A 2022 account describes two micro-inverters failing in 2019 and the company losing its relationship with the manufacturer mid-claim. A Better Business Bureau reviewer says they were sold a system the company no longer sells or services, and a New Hampshire Reddit commenter wrote in May 2026 that everything was fine until they needed the panels taken down for a new roof. For a New Hampshire array where the permitting, the net metering and the town inspector are the hard part, this is a strong pick — that local fluency is the single most repeated compliment in the whole history. Before signing, ask what happens when the panels have to come off for roof work, whether production monitoring is included, and exactly what the financing price difference buys.

The generator installation and operational test were just successfully completed. Great so far. I'm not wishing for bad weather but I am anticipating its first real use. I'll keep you posted. Great job!

When looking into having a home solar and battery backup system installed, we researched many companies through the internet, made use of Energy Sage, constructed a comparison spreadsheet (equipment costs, warranties, output ratings, etc.) and invited the two top companies to visit our home and make a presentation. We found the Granite State Solar team to make the best proposal as they thoroughly answered all our questions, used quality technology, and were reasonably priced – not the least expensive nor the most expensive. We decided on a 24 panel array with the Enphase IQ8MC microinverters with a FranklinWH aGate and 15 kwh aPower2 battery backup. Our system was installed in early April and through July 31st is averaging close to 1 megawatt hour of production (there is early morning and late afternoon shade). We coordinated the installation with Andy, Amy, Raenor, and Maggie all of whom were very helpful in answering questions as they came up and greatly helped with interacting with Eversource. In addition to Net-Metering, Eversource is also paying us to access the energy stored in the battery between June and the first of September, which reduces the time to achieve the break-even point. I highly recommend getting a battery back-up and in the future I probably will add a second battery as the technology improves and the prices come down. The installation team and the electricians were fabulous, in that they were friendly, efficient, good workmanship, and were willing to answer many of the questions I had and left the work-site spotless. It’s several months later and I recall Kyle(?) but wish I remembered everyone’s name to give them a shout-out. Everyone was extremely professional and they were excited for us. It was to our benefit to have individual microinverters as we were able to recognize and pinpoint a problem with a couple of underperforming panels some of which were corrected remotely (microinverters) and some (defective panels – rare but it can happen) of which were replaced very quickly by Granite State Solar. We are very pleased with our system, and we are investing in reducing our reliance on oil heat to take better advantage of the energy generated by the Sun. If you are considering going solar and/or installing a battery back-up system I highly recommend talking with the Granite State Solar team. I have already recommended them to several people and will continue to do so.
