Green Collar is an energy-efficiency contractor at 48 Lamb St in South Hadley, working across western Massachusetts as a Mass Save installer. Its Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration, 181415, is verified active with the state under the company's own name, and it has been a BBB-accredited business since April 2017 with an A+ grade. The bulk of the work customers describe falls into three buckets: attic and wall insulation with air sealing under Mass Save, mini-split and heat-pump installation, and replacement windows. The praise is unusually specific and names the same crews across years — Jeff, Jordan and Quinn on insulation, Todd, Brent and Derrick on mini-splits, Bryan on windows. A homeowner writing in February 2026 described the crew arriving at 8am as scheduled, laying drop cloths, doing the blower test, then working the attic and basement and adding door seals, with a basement draft gone afterwards. In July 2025 another described a crew clearing an awkward attic and removing a bird's nest and a dead squirrel while insulating. Reviewers repeatedly mention rebate paperwork being handled for them, in one case a $10,000 Mass Save cheque. The complaints matter and run the other way. Three of the thirteen reviews in the last six months are negative, and they are detailed. A March 2026 reviewer said only about half the wall cavities were actually filled and the rim joist was left 20% unfinished, and raised the possibility of the company being paid twice for work not done. A July 2026 reviewer described a false carbon-monoxide reading taken by a company representative that cost $275 in independent HVAC testing. A December 2025 reviewer said existing insulation was replaced with lesser material and spray foam was left on basement items. An August 2026 reviewer booked through Angi and had the technician not show, with no follow-up call. Separately, a public OSHA enforcement record for Green Collar, LLC in South Hadley reports an inspection opened in January 2024 that produced five citations and $13,551.30 in proposed penalties. For a homeowner going through a Mass Save assessment in western Massachusetts, this is one of the busiest and best-reviewed installers in the area, with a live state registration and hundreds of accounts of tidy, well-explained work. Put the scope in writing — every cavity, every area, and what "complete" means — get a walkthrough before final sign-off, and confirm what the state is being billed for alongside your own share.

Bryan and Daryl , they’re both very nice and efficient at what they do. Bryan is very nice and very good about installing the windows, he makes sure everything is clean and done well.He comes very early to do the windows all by himself. He is a very good worker. And Daryl tends to solve whatever issues quickly, get in touch with the company and they both showed up.
Connected with Green Collar through Angi. Very responsive, scheduled an appointment that evening via text message. Today was the day of the appointment, and the tech did not show. I messaged the same person that booked the appointment, and first they said there was a mix up and the appointment wasn't scheduled, and then they stated that the job was cancelled because the scope was not something they supported. No call to follow up on the cancellation, no messages. I had to take time off work to be here for the appointment, and I had to call to find out where the tech was and what happened to the appointment. Scheduling is one of the most basic expectations of a company that provides services like these, and this experience was horrible. Get your act together and stop wasting my time.
From the very beginning, we’ve experienced a series of problems. Problems that cost us too much time and extra money from our pockets. I’ll start with CJ, who was the first Green Collar representative to come to our home. During his inspection, he pushed the flue PPM reader directly into the soot, which resulted in a false carbon monoxide reading. Because of that, I had to hire an independent HVAC technician to inspect and retest the boiler. They confirmed the boiler was operating properly and that there were no issues. That unnecessary inspection cost me $275. Next came the insulation installation crew, and unfortunately the experience only got worse. They left cellulose insulation all over our bedroom and garage, creating a significant mess that we were left to clean up ourselves. It was obvious that little care was taken to properly prepare or protect our home before beginning the work. At one point, the crew asked to access the attic through a window. I specifically instructed them to use a different window, but they ignored my request and ended up breaking the one I told them not to use. To Green Collar’s credit, the broken window was repaired. The crew also tracked a sticky red substance throughout our floors because they failed to use drop cloths or other protective coverings. Finally, during the reinspection, it was discovered that they had installed an uninsulated exhaust fan duct even though I was quoted and charged for an insulated duct. While Green Collar has since returned and corrected that issue by installing the proper insulated duct, it is another example of work that should have been done correctly the first time. I would recommend looking for a different installer in CT.
We just had the team of Keem, Tito and Jacob come to install insulation in our home. These gentlemen were extremely efficient and professional. They could not have been nicer and respected our home as if it were their own. Green collar is lucky to have them!!
