Greener Group works out of a Lowell yard on Bolt Street and describes itself as a family-owned business that opened to commercial and residential customers in 1990, now running six divisions under one roof: excavating and utilities, landscape construction, hardscape, outside maintenance, landscape management and snow management.
Most of what can be verified about them is public-project work rather than homeowner work. The Swampscott Tides reported in March 2026 that the firm had been awarded the construction contract for the town's Archer Trail the previous October. Boston Planning records list Greener Group as the awarded company for landscape services at the Charlestown Navy Yard. Arlington's public works files carry an approved-contractor application from Michael Ruggiero of Greener Group, and Lowell's own filings show an amended notice of intent from the company at 123 Bolt Street.
The customer record is thin and worth reading carefully, because most of the people writing about them were not customers. Google publishes a 3.8-star average across 34 ratings, but only seven review bodies are retrievable, and they are dominated by bystanders rather than clients. A 2025 reviewer described a crew at a Market Basket parking lot in Oxford blowing dirt onto her car and continuing after she was visibly inside it. A 2022 reviewer living beside a development the company was working on described noise, rudeness, and work blown onto their property that killed their plants. Two recent one-star reviews, both from 2026, complain about nails left on a driveway and about how the crews drive.
The positive side of the record is short and generic: a 2022 reviewer called the staff very polite and helpful and said they loved doing business with them, and two other five-star entries are one-liners.
If you are a homeowner considering them, the useful questions are the ones the record cannot answer: ask for residential references in your own town, ask specifically how site cleanup and debris control are handled at the end of each day, and get the scope for hardscape or excavation work written out. Their demonstrated depth is in municipal and developer-side site work, and a residential job would be judged against a track record that is largely not residential.

I was at market basket this morning at Oxford mass and these landscape were leaf blowing dirt at people cars. I was in my car and they were blowing the dirt and stuff on my car and they seen me inside and still continue to do so. I go out told them to blow my car off and they didn't speak English so my husband had to tell them. What if I had my windows open and there were families with children and you were blowing dirt all over people and cars. So unprofessional.
