GreenHow is an Auburndale pest control company whose customers keep coming back for the same reason: a termite swarm on a basement window, a hornet's nest before a graduation party, mice scratching in the attic — and someone from GreenHow shows up fast, usually within a day and sometimes within the hour. On Google, that pattern holds across 204 ratings averaging 4.9, and BBB gives the company an A+. Termites and stinging insects come up again and again in the written record. One homeowner who'd just moved from California found termites during an exterior inspection; a follow-up visit confirmed the finding and the company installed a bait-and-monitoring system. Another family, watching termites swarm their basement window, got a same-morning inspection and had bait installed within two days. Wasp and hornet calls follow a similar shape — a nest discovered two days before a son's graduation party got a response within an hour of opening, and several reviewers single out technicians (Robert, Danny, Carlos, Samantha among them) for clearing yellow jacket and hornet nests on short notice. What separates GreenHow from a spray-and-bill operation, in these accounts, is a habit of saying no. One reviewer was told outright that an indoor fly problem and an outdoor yellow-jacket issue would resolve on their own and weren't worth paying to treat — and the pests were gone within weeks, as predicted. Another asked specifically for humane mouse control and says the company used quick-kill traps rather than glue boards, then sealed entry points to prevent a repeat. Several long-tenured customers describe the same technician returning year after year — Ruben, Kei, Denis — which shows up in the reviews as a kind of continuity most pest companies don't get credit for. The complaints that surface are about billing and process, not the pest work itself. In a February 2026 review, a longtime customer paying for an annual plan was surprised to learn a winter visit for a new ant problem wasn't covered and carried a separate fee. A 2025 review describes a subscription that, after cancellation, left mouse traps sitting in the house — and a separate four-month, $750-plus mouse-elimination plan the reviewer says produced no result. And a homeowner who needed only a single town-required pest inspection says GreenHow required a 10-page waiver, personal information, a credit card on file, and enrollment in autopay for what was meant to be a one-time visit. GreenHow also handles routine lawn fertilizing and seeding for some long-standing customers, though pest and wildlife work — ants, wasps, rodents, and the occasional squirrel — is clearly the core of the business. Worth asking up front: exactly what a subscription plan covers by season, and what a one-time visit requires before signing anything.
Highly recommended. We were noticing frass on our back porch but couldn't determine the cause. We were worried that it might impact the structural integrity of our porch of our multi-family building. Thank you to technician Wesley for coming out, investigating the problem, providing advice, and not making a hard sell. Wesley's honesty and straightforward approach makes me want to do business with Greenhow now and in the future.
Moving from California to Boston, termites were not something I thought I’d have to continue worrying about. I was wrong! We scheduled an exterior service about a month or so ago. Alexis went above and beyond in his inspection of the property. Unfortunately he discovered termites but fortunately we then knew we have to deal with the situation. In the follow up Termite inspection Wes confirmed Alexis’ findings and did an extensive search for more evidence of termites. Fortunately it seems like they have not made their way into the house. Wes returned to install the termite prevention system and did a fantastic job including a very thorough overview of everything that was being done and why. We are so happy that we are in such good hands. Everyone we have dealt with at Greenhow affirms the decision to work with them. While this is not necessarily a fun thing to deal with the experiences we’ve had to date have been confidence inspiring.
We were outside working in the yard when we saw a tons of termites swarming on our basement window. We knew we were in trouble. Our first call to GreenHow; we called them because a year ago we had trouble with mice and they gave us some helpful advice for free. They came out that same morning and did an inspection, finding signs of termite infestation in the basement that I had missed. Sam explained everything in detail and we signed up for service. Two days later Wesley came out to install the termite bait. He clearly knew what he was doing and was super friendly, letting me tag along while he installed the bait, explaining everything as he went and answering all my questions in detail. As a homeowner that expertise and willingness to explain makes a huge difference. Having termites stinks, but our experience with GreenHow has been great!
Robert was fantastic! He recently serviced our home and went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. He removed webs and debris around the perimeter, treated the foundation for carpenter ants and other insects, applied granular bait to the front yard, and safely removed both a yellow jacket nest and a bald-faced hornet nest from the side of our house. What stood out most was Robert's professionalism, attention to detail, and friendly attitude. He took the time to explain what he was doing and made sure we were comfortable with the treatment plan. We couldn't be happier with the service and highly recommend Robert and the GreenHow team!
Only wonderful things to say about Denis. He is kind, respectful and responsible. On his first visit he explained the world of termites and patiently answered all of my questions while searching for the source. His second visit was equally as pleasant, doing exactly as he said he would, further explaining and answering questions and making a frustrating situation as easy as possible. Many thanks and appreciation!
