Grega Painting is a family painting business with a long story behind it: the company says Emil founded it in 1942, that Tom later took it over, and that Tim and Tom carry on the family tradition today. Its website lists a service area of Fairfield, Westport, Milford, Weston, Easton, Redding, Norwalk, Darien and Bridgeport, and the Better Business Bureau gives it an A+ grade. A 2023 customer said the company painted seven rooms in their house. That 2023 customer wrote that Tim scoped the job, gave a timely and fair estimate, and showed up at the outset of the job each day. A 2021 customer had used Grega Painting before with good results, then hired Tim and his crew to paint the exterior of the house that summer and gave two stars. That 2021 customer said the paint was sloppy and uneven, that paint dripped onto the porch stonework and damaged new Azek stairs, and that windows were painted shut, which they did fix. In 2021 the same customer also wrote that the shutters were put back incorrectly and that the job cost more than other painters had quoted, while calling Tim very good at communicating.

Grega Painting simply does outstanding work. They have painted 7 rooms in our house and take great care and pride in their work. Tim scoped the job, provided a timely and fair estimate, showed up at the outset of the job each day and checks in frequently to ensure we were happy and that everything was going well. Every person who was on the various inside painting jobs were kind, hard-working, and diligent. They stand behind their work and make sure you are pleased. We are fortunate to have them as a resource. Highest recommendation!
I used Grega Painting in the past with great results. BUT... we hired Tim and his crew to come and paint the exterior of our house this summer. And it was a huge disappointment. The sanding was uneven. The paint was sloppy and uneven. They dripped paint ALL over our stonework on our porch and the paint won't come off. They also damaged our new Azek stairs in the back of our house with paint. They tried to fix it too... but it's still horrible looking. They painted all the windows that needed painting shut. They did fix that, but why would professional painters make that silly mistake? They overpainted our glazed windows so they look cruddy and lumpy (did not look like that before). And they put back the shutters on the house incorrectly (hanging at the very top of the window, not from hung from the bottom frame). So now I'm hiring a handyman for $$$ to fix it. But I can't fix the damage the dripped paint caused. And all it would have taken is a simple drop cloth. Why they didn't use them to over parts of our exterior to protect our porch and stairs, I have no idea. But it's ruined. PLUS.... I thought I was getting a professional top-notch job. So I paid for that. Which was much more $$$ than other painters quoted me. But I sure didn't get the quality job I thought I was going to get. I will not hire them again. Tim is a nice guy and very good at communicating, but I'm looking for a good job too. Very disappointed, especially as I saw him as my "go to" painter because of his excellent work in the past. Not anymore.
