Five 80-foot hemlocks, taken down in one visit, with all the wood and chips hauled away. That is the job a recent Google customer describes from Happy Tree Care LLC, which calls itself an arborist service doing tree pruning, tree removal, tree health care and risk assessments across East Hampton, Glastonbury, Portland, Marlborough, Colchester, Middletown and surrounding Connecticut towns. Its website claims 20 years in business. That hemlock customer says Chris offered a minimally invasive option, his crew removed all 5 trees quickly, and Chris priced a Norway maple on the spot and removed it while they were still there. A recent reviewer had a weeping tree with cable and electrical lines running through it cut down and was given 3 price points for what to do with the tree afterward. A recent customer says Chris came right out to check on a storm-damaged tree, then pruned it, stacked the wood and cleaned up completely. A recent customer says the cleanup after a tree was cut down and removed left "not even a wood-chip, branch, or leaf" behind. A recent customer says Chris cleaned up overgrown arborvitaes and explained what future care the trees need. In a 2025 review, a customer said Chris and his team climbed and used ropes to remove two dead birches from a tight, small yard without damaging the property. That 2025 customer also wrote that Happy Tree Care booked them quickly while other companies quoted much higher prices and were booking months out.
Happy Tree Care did a phenomenal job cutting down a weeping tree with cable and electrical lines running through it. They are so precise and experienced and amazing to watch. We were given 3 price points regarding what to do with the tree after cutting. They were exceptional in cleaning up as if they had never been here. We have another large tree that will eventually need to go…I know who we will call. We found them when they were cutting a huge tree across from us. We highly recommend Chris and his guys.
Chris was great to work with. From our first meeting, I felt very comfortable with his ability to remove a large tree overhanging our house. He and his crew were professional and he met the timelines he set for himself. I would highly recommend.
Chris's expertise and passion for arboriculture are evident from the moment you meet him. He responded promptly to my inquiry, communicated clearly throughout the entire project, and followed through on every detail. His dedication to making sure I was completely satisfied with the finished job truly set him apart. The quality of his work exceeded my expectations, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and dependable arborist. Chris will definitely be my first call for any future tree care needs!
We have been dealing with tall hemlock trees snapping in storms and dropping large limbs for years. The clean up of these trees was dangerous and time consuming. So we consulted with a few companies about them and they wanted to take down more trees to get to the ones of concern. This would have taken out most of our trees and shade in our yard. We called Chris after seeing a few people in town suggesting his company for tree work in the area. Chris was very responsive to communications and took time to go over some options with us to deal with these trees, he even gave us his advice on preserving them and the history of hemlocks in the state. Unfortunately they are too close to a school behind our house and a future garage to be built on our property and we agreed they should be removed. Chris offered us a minimally invasive option to remove the 5x 80ft tall hemlock trees, taking all the wood and chips away. We decided to go with him as the price was fair and we preferred the solution he offered. His crew came and removed all 5 trees quickly. They even cleaned things up so well you could barely tell they were there. After they were done with the hemlocks we spoke about a Norway maple on the property that had also been giving us problems. Chris gave us a price on the spot and removed the tree while they were still on sight which was much appreciated as to only have them there once. Long and short of this whole project is Happy Tree Care was fantastic to deal with and has a great group of people they work with. I would highly recommend people giving them a shot.
I highly recommend Happy Tree Care. Christopher was great. He showed up on time and did great work removing a tree for me. He also gave recommendations and options for replanting. He’s very knowledgeable and professional. I give 5 stars⭐️
