Harmony Energy Works is a Hampton, New Hampshire solar installer whose reviews split sharply: smooth installs and quick warranty fixes on one side, and a handful of serious complaints about follow-through on the other. The company says it designs and installs residential and commercial solar across New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine and handles permitting, interconnection and incentive paperwork in house. Its president, George Horrocks, is described on the company site as an electrical engineer and NABCEP-certified installer. The good accounts are specific. A February 2026 Google reviewer had solar panels and a battery backup installed and credits the crew with placing the panels and integrating the battery into the home's electrical system. In an August 2025 review, a customer whose 2018 solar tracker stopped working said that after a call to Jay, a crew was there within 2 hours, replaced a part under warranty, and had the tracker running within an hour. A September 2025 reviewer with a DIY system said Harmony diagnosed and fixed a malfunctioning inverter and later replaced an under-performing panel under warranty. In a 2023 review, a customer described a ground-mounted system installed in 2020; when a pine tree took down 5 of its 15 panels two years later, Harmony was there the next day. The complaints are just as concrete. In a June 2025 Google review, a couple who said they spent about $250,000 with Harmony on two systems said they lost $6,000 in solar credit because no one told them to switch the supplier to Eversource, and that panels were installed beyond their own part of a shared roof. An October 2023 reviewer said the company took a $1,500 deposit, proposed a project not permissible under Hampton building codes, missed multiple hearings on an easement, and then went silent. A 2022 Angi review described panel removal for a roofing job stretching from one week to two months, a chased inverter repair, and a battery backup left unusable; the company posted a rebuttal. An August 2025 Google review called its workers disrespectful. A 4-star 2023 review praised the crew but said communication about a state $1,000 rebate could be better and production projections are likely optimistic. BBB grades the company B-, citing a failure to respond to one complaint. It holds active Massachusetts electrical and home improvement contractor licences and an active New Hampshire electrician licence (0390C). Google shows 4.3 stars from 29 ratings.

Harmony, as a company, responded well to my DIY-installed solar system, diagnosing and fixing a malfunctioning inverter, later replacing an under-performing panel, with an alternative, under warranty, and the latest assistance, filling out the Maine solar tax exemption form. Sincere gratitude to Jay, their Project Manager, from a long-in-the-tooth, fellow PM, for the latter task, undertaken, gratis.
I had a solar tracker installed in 2018 and I noticed it wasn't working. I called and spoke to Jay and he told me to try and couple of things before he sends out someone to look at it. I did what he asked and it didn't work. So I called him the back the next day and within 2 hours they were here to look at it. They replaced a part that was under warranty and then figured out what was wrong. Within a hour my tracker was up and running again. Their workers are among the most disrespectful individuals you will encounter in the local area. They hire men with no values whatsoever or public respect. A reflection of "George," I am sure.
My husband and I spent about $250,000 with Harmony Energy in total between solar panels at our office and our home. We lost $6,000 in solar credit by not being informed that we needed to switch the supplier to Eversource. For Harmony Energy to receive such a large amount of business, more meticulous care and insured delivery of critical information should have been provided to the customer. We should have gone with 603 Solar or Revision Energy. In addition, Harmony Energy installed solar panels beyond the owned area of our roof putting us at financial risk with the other owners in the association. We suspect this significantly increased the cost we paid to Harmony as well. Their abandonment of customer service and attempts to blame the process on us when they were responsible to guide us through the process for retrieval of credit upon sale of the condo unit was inexcusable. BUYER BEWARE.
