Hawkeye Fence

No regard for delivery, and poor customer service—even though they knew the order was delayed.

They did a great job!

I reached out to Hawkeye Fence for a quote on 5/23. They scheduled to come out and give me an estimate on 5/27. I had to call the day they were scheduled to come out and ask if they were still coming as it was after the alloted time frame. Someone finally came. I waited 3 days and still no quote. I called 5/30 and received no answer. I then drove to their location 5/31 and they were closed even though it was 2 hours before their closing time listed on Google. I saw a guy that was around the back and asked him about the office and he rudely asked who are you. I told him I had been waiting for my quote and hadn't heard from anyone. He told me call back Monday morning. I call Monday morning and they told me they have the quote and will email it now. It is now 7/18 and I've still yet to receive a quote from them. Luckily, after I noticed their attitude towards me I called a few other companies to give me quotes. I ended up going with Brockton Fence and I couldn't be happier with their customer service and I absolutely love my new fence. I don't care if Hawkeye's quote would've come in at half the price. I would never use them just for their lack of customer service.

Fence is only about 2 years old at the time of the posting. This was a commercial job. Photos speak for the review. Biggest issue is the cheap U bolt they use for the latch pole. I suggest replacing with an exhaust U bolt from the auto parts store. Looks like their welder forgot to turn his gas on to. I can’t imagine these were galvanized poles with how the rust is coming through every joint.

I had this company installed a fence for me about 5 yrs ago and it has fallen down. They didn't even pour concrete to hold the post. When I called and spoke with them about this I was told me that cedar fencing only last about 5yrs. I had to call and pay another company to come and fix my fence. The new company told me that the fence should have lasted me a minimum of 15yrs but most can last up to 20yrs before any problem and that Hawkeye did not even put the post down in the ground deep enough...this company should be ashamed of themselves! Beware before you work with them!
