The Kingston company describes itself as locally and family-owned, about 20 years at it, working as both an HVAC and electrical contractor with heat pumps — ductless mini splits above all — at the center of the business. It says it takes part in Mass Save. Its Massachusetts HVAC license is active on the state registry, and its BBB page carries an A+. Across 159 Google ratings averaging 4.9, two kinds of jobs dominate. One is the install: whole houses fitted with mini splits, crews that hold their arrival window and clean up at the end of each day. The other is everything after — a customer who had ductless units put in two years ago says they have been quick to come back when needed, and one reviewer's system, installed more than ten years ago, is still on their service list. They also get called in behind other companies. In June 2026 a homeowner quoted over $4,500 elsewhere says Chad was in and out in an hour, explained a common fault, and charged under $400. A May 2026 reviewer credits Dawn, Rob and Chad with tracking down a heat pump defect caused by another contractor's poor installation. Over Christmas 2025, a family four days without heat had been told by their usual repair tech that the sensor would take another week to ship. The complaint on file is about a leak. In June 2025 a customer wrote that a friend in the trade had found a leak, that Heat Pumps Unlimited told him there wasn't one, and that the refrigerant they added instead didn't hold.
