Four permits, four different kinds of job. In 2023 Herlihy Construction pulled a $45,750 Marblehead permit for a kitchen and two-bathroom renovation that included new HVAC and a new electrical service. A year earlier it was an $80,000 Hingham re-side, clapboard swapped for cedar shingle with the windows and doors replaced; before that, in 2021, a $35,000 engineered retaining wall and stairs in Hingham and a $15,000 PVC deck resurfacing in Sagamore Beach. Brian Herlihy owns the company, which works out of 19 Orchard Circle in Swampscott. One thing to settle first: the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #201354, is expired on the state registry. Ask whether it has been renewed and ask to see the current certificate before you sign a residential contract. BuildZoom separately lists a construction supervisor licence, CS-053006, under the company — worth checking on the state register as well. The permits point to a builder comfortable taking a room, or a whole exterior, from demolition through finish at a real budget rather than running small service calls.
