Twenty-four permits and not a single review — that is the shape of Hunter Building and General Contracting. Building-permit records collected by BuildZoom put the Hanson company's work across the South Shore and beyond: Cohasset, Norwell, Scituate, Milton, Randolph, Braintree, Hanover and Hanson, with two of those projects logged in the past two years. Robert Hunter — listed as Bobby Hunter on the company's BBB page — runs it as a sole proprietorship, and the business tells Angi and the BBB it has been building since 1992, also under the name LAB Construction. Its own site describes design-build work: custom homes, additions and ADUs, plus kitchen, basement and whole-home renovations, with Hanson given as the service area. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, with Robert Hunter as the holder of record. BuildZoom also lists an earlier Massachusetts registration, #124560, as inactive and previously cancelled, and shows a Newton residential builder license for the company. The BBB page carries an A+ grade, though the business is not accredited there, and lists no complaints or government actions. What is missing is anyone's account of the work. BBB, BuildZoom and Angi each show zero customer reviews, and Angi's page still says the pro is new there. A LinkedIn listing naming Robert Hunter as the company's general contractor is the only open-web mention. The case for hiring them therefore rests on the permit trail and the active registration rather than on other homeowners' experience. A reasonable call if you want a small, owner-run builder for an addition or a custom build and you are willing to do your own vetting: ask for recent job addresses you can drive by, references from the past two years, and a written scope and payment schedule before anything starts.
