Hurdscapes Inc. Landscaping & Hardscaping

Hurdscapes is a Westport landscaping and hardscaping company owned and run by Peter Hurd, who started the business after more than 13 years working in the industry and serves the South Coast towns around Westport, Dartmouth, Nonquitt, and Mishaum Point. The written record, ten reviews from 2022 and 2023, points past routine mowing toward more involved yard work. In a 2023 review, a customer describes a full cleanup of a 3-acre property — flower beds and odd corners included — at a price called fair for the scope. Another 2023 review describes transplanting an 18-year-old azalea bush and leaving the surrounding garden looking better than before. A 2022 review describes a more technical job: trenching a gas line from an in-ground tank to a backup generator, including sand fill, cover, reseeding, and leveling. Reviewers consistently mention responsiveness and fair pricing, and several say they've used Hurdscapes repeatedly since it started out. One 2022 review, while positive overall, suggested the crew could use more judgment on how often to cut grass during a dry spell. Peter himself gets called out by name in a 2023 review as approachable and willing to offer help even without a paid job attached.
