A recent customer had George of Ideal Contracting replace the pool lights and help configure an Omni hub automated pool control, and said he did what their other pool company could not do in five years. The company's website lists residential and commercial electrical services, pools and spas, EV charging, generators, landscape lighting and home security, and it says it has been in business for six years. It names Fairfield, New Haven, Litchfield, Hartford, Middlesex, Tolland and New London as its service area. A recent customer said George repaired the wires on their pool heater, tested it and explained what he found. One recent customer contacted him about the display panel on a RayPak pool heater, and he came out the next day and replaced it. A recent customer said he assessed and fixed the issues with an electrical pool box and responded within a few hours. Inside the house, a recent customer said George looked into bathroom lights and outlets, checked everything listed on the panel and offered what is hopefully the solution. A recent customer who hired George for faulty wiring and new light fixtures said he was upfront about pricing before the service. A customer who needed service on a Sunday morning said Ideal was the only one of the contractors called that returned the call. In a 2025 review, a customer described George providing the electrical services for an in-ground swimming pool built at their house, including lights, heater and auto cover installation. A 2025 reviewer wrote that the heater's manufacturer, Pentair, recommended the company for a diagnostic, and that George figured out the problem from videos and photos after working hours. A 2025 customer said George is a registered Hayward warranty repair and service representative and knew how to reprogram the system, so that customer did not have to involve a separate pool contractor. A 2024 customer who called with an emergency on a Saturday afternoon said the problem could not be resolved that day, but he came back a couple days later, finished the job and charged much less than expected. In a 2023 review, a customer who was getting lightly zapped touching the pool coping said George recommended an inline water bond and an 8-foot grounding rod. A recent customer whose pool heater wiring had been chewed by mice said the company charged $1,400 on the first visit and another $450 on a second, though the heater still was not working, and told them to call a pool company; that pool company said the heater was not fixable. Connecticut lists the company's E1 electrician licence, ELC.0205281-E1, as active.
