Innov Builders

Two general contractors turn up in Innov Builders' reviews as customers. One hired the Wakefield crew as a subcontractor for a bathroom remodel in Hingham in April 2026; another, writing in August 2025, says he uses owner Iago Maciel as a sub and that client issues get addressed immediately. Being the crew other builders call is worth knowing about a company whose own site lists kitchens, bathrooms, additions, framing, decks, porches, siding and finish carpentry for residential and commercial clients. The company traces itself to 2018, when — by its own account — Iago Henrique Oliveira Maciel arrived from Brazil with construction experience, worked as a carpenter for a local company, and started out on his own after taking on a house siding job. It operated as Innovation Construction before rebranding, which is why a run of older reviews carries the earlier name. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #212869, is active. Carpentry is where the detail lives. A July 2025 customer describes a custom built-in that folded the washing machine in with the cabinets; a June 2026 reviewer writes about a staircase project; another from June 2026 has a carpenter arriving on time to refinish cherry wood countertops, with scheduling by text, payment by Venmo, and the job finished clean. Kitchens run bigger — cabinet fabrication and installation in June 2026, full renovations described in April 2025 and March 2026 — and decks come up three times, including a second-level deck with a suspended staircase in Marblehead in a February 2025 review. In August 2025 a homeowner describes a roof repair for a leak over an upstairs bedroom, with Iago bringing a drone camera to the house. Ratings sit at 4.9 on both Google (58) and Thumbtack (60). The one sour note is about how the job gets bought, not how it gets built. A March 2026 customer gave two stars after a proposal, an estimate and a "showroom" meeting, saying only then was it disclosed that the customer is responsible for selecting and purchasing products from Home Depot. Settle that at the estimate: who selects the materials, who pays for them, and what the quoted price covers. A good call for carpentry-forward work — built-ins, stairs, cabinets, decks, a kitchen you want finished carefully — and for homeowners or builders who need a piece of a larger project rather than all of it; a May 2026 Thumbtack customer says the crew handled multiple small projects that were parts of larger ones without requiring the whole job. Get the materials arrangement in writing, and confirm which carpenter will be on your site.
