TrueFix Services

A July 2025 customer described replacing a few windows and some siding as "not a big enough job for some contractors to even" bother with. TrueFix took it. A January 2025 customer had been unable to get anyone to return a call about installing a microwave; TrueFix called back and did it. In February 2026 another needed staircase spindles removed and reinstalled because her stair tread installer would not touch that part of the job. TrueFix Services is a Wakefield handyman and home-repair company working the towns north of Boston — Andover, Lynnfield, Melrose, North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, Wilmington, Winchester, Woburn — on carpentry, fixture installs and interior and exterior repairs. It says the handyman side grew out of trained carpenters fielding local repair requests, and claims more than 20 years of building and repair experience. The jobs in these reviews are long on the unglamorous: a tub recaulked after years of patchwork, a dryer vent sorted out, rotted deck stairs and trim replaced, loose siding reattached high on a house, a screen door fitted where there had been none with extra trim added at the side and bottom, four basement windows measured within a day of the call and installed as soon as they arrived from the supplier. In February 2026 a crew came out almost immediately to get snow and ice off a roof that was letting water in, then explained how to prevent the build-up next winter. They take on real projects too. In November 2024 Claudio finished a basement with a full bar and a gym, including a custom display built into the bar holding 250 baseballs. In February 2024 a 104-year-old house gained a second bathroom, a rebuilt mudroom entry and a replacement for a rotted walk-out basement door, with site walks, daily updates and an invoicing review. In April 2024 a hardwood floor went in alongside a small bathroom renovation. In January 2026 Guil put shiplap on an entryway. Names recur — Guil, Claudio, Manuel, Miguel — and so does Lindsay, the operations manager, whom a February 2026 condo owner with a long punch list credited for keeping the communication straight. Two things to note. An April 2026 four-star reviewer wrote that the work was professional and prompt, but that the technician said he would return to finish cabinet adjustments and had not yet rescheduled. And the company's Better Business Bureau profile shows one complaint on file. TrueFix suits the homeowner with a list nobody else will come out for — the loose board, the door that needs trimming, the caulk line, the vent — and who might later want the basement finished by people already trusted in the house. Book any return visit while the crew is still there, since that is where the one lukewarm review lands.
