Interstate Masonry and Construction has dated complaints about unfinished stairs, chimney problems and costs rising after work began. BBB identifies the Randolph business as a sole proprietorship and reports that it appears to be out of business. Google shows 3.2 stars from 19 ratings, while Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 3.7 stars from three ratings. In February 2024, a customer said stone front stairs had begun losing stones less than a year after installation. They described increased costs, unrepaired property damage and a promised repair visit that never happened; they also alleged that the company blocked their number. A July 2023 reviewer described a Worcester job for stairs with railings and basement repointing. They said the stairs, railings and pathway remained unfinished after full payment, debris was left behind and calls were blocked. An August 2023 Angi reviewer also said a paid job was not completed as promised. Two 2023 chimney accounts describe problems beyond cleanup or scheduling. A November reviewer said promised lining and a cap were missing, costs rose after work started and debris was left on the property. They reported that broken ceramic lining blocked the flue and that gas or smoke filled the basement when the heat was turned on. A June reviewer said a chimney-height job became a rebuild after additional problems were identified, and described feeling pressured to proceed while the chimney was partially dismantled. That customer alleged soot and dust inside the home, driveway and roof damage, smoke entering the house after the rebuild, missing dampers and repeated missed return visits. There are positive accounts too. In August 2023, a customer said James and his team installed a basement drainage system and that water issues had stayed resolved for eight months. A January 2023 reviewer praised the design of a mailbox project, punctuality and cleanup. A November 2022 customer described same-day chimney leak repair. A March 2023 reviewer gave three stars, saying the price increased after the crew found damage the customer had raised before work began. They also said the team twice declared the job finished with items still outstanding and left trash and dirt behind.
