J. Benjamin Landscape and Design did an incredible job redesigning our front yard. The owner Jason was very responsive to our request and completed the work in a timely manor. Our front yard looks completely different and exceeded expectations. We would Jason Benjamin Landscape and Design to anyone.
Jason just completed the design and installation of new landscaping in front of our house - trees, shrubs and flowers. We are very pleased with the outcome. Jason took our few general suggestions and came up with a beautiful and comprehensive design providing seasonal color interest, a beautiful cobblestone border and a fieldstone walkway. We have received many compliments from people walking by and seeing his work. If your project is such that it would require a design plan, we found his design fee very reasonable. Jason is passionate about his work. His designs are artistic.
Jason did a great job helping us design a full impact landscape for our house. We relied on him to come up with a compelling design and choose the right shrubs, grasses, and plants. We made a couple special requests for plants which he courteously accommodated. He dethatched our lawn, removing record amounts of thatch, and so helped our lawn get off to a great start this year. To give our deck privacy, he created this nice privacy screen with arbor vitae shrubs. I would have given him 5 stars instead of 4 if the last arbor vitae to go in the ground had not taken an extra month to be planted. However, Jason to his credit kept his word and did plant the arbor vitae. Jason is a hard worker and knows his craft. He performs magic. We would hire him again.
Jay or my "yard Husband" as I call him... He Always does an excellent job! I'm very picky as I have a large yard with lots of landscaping. He's the only landscaper I have kept. He's been doing my lawn and landscaping for five years now. Jay is Always careful not to damage things and completely trustworthy and honest. He also knows his stuff when it comes to horticulture, trees, perennials and shrubs. A true artist when it comes to landscaping design he comes up with. Just call him!!! You'll be glad you did!!
Jason and his team at J. Benjamin Landscaping completed a small project (edging and mulching) as well as a large project (landscape design, plantings around our new fence, and the design and install of a doggie play area with cobblestone surround and wood chips on the surface) at our home. They approached both jobs with an equal amount of attention to detail, enthusiasm, and professionalism, which is a rare and wonderful trait for any contractor. We had called several landscaping companies before we found J. Benjamin Landscaping, and we were met with the usual no-shows for a set appointment time, poor communication, and generally poor customer service. Jason doesn’t run his business that way. He is prompt, is great at communicating the project status, and always leaves the project site clean and in better condition than the way he found it. As for landscape design, Jason has a great eye for what goes well in your yard from a visual perspective, coupled with a knowledge of plants that informs what would perform well in the conditions present in your yard. We have tough, rocky soil and are surrounded by pine trees, and Jason took all of that into account when designing our new space. He’s not the landscape designer who sells you a really expensive set of plantings that will die no matter what you do. I also appreciate that he worked with the current plantings - things I had planted as an amateur gardener - and never once poo-pooed or looked down on what I had planted previously. His design blends seamlessly into what we already had in the ground, so no tearing up perfectly good plants just for beauty’s sake. Upon project completion, Jason left instructions on care and maintenance for the new plantings. Those gestures, though seemingly small, denote his level of care and attention to his craft. If you are looking for a landscaping company that you can depend on for small or large jobs, J. Benjamin Landscaping is the right choice. We plan to use them for many years to come.
