J Pallarino Painting is a Norwalk painting company run by James Pallarino, and its written reviews, all on Angi and HomeAdvisor, date from 2015 to 2019. The company says it has been in business since 1983 and works towns from Stamford and Greenwich to Fairfield, Monroe and Trumbull. The Angi accounts are detailed. In an April 2018 review, a homeowner described the foyer and hallways: new colors on chair rail molding, crown molding and doors, and sand-coated ceilings taken down through sanding, compound, primer and paint, with the crew cleaning up before leaving every day. A December 2016 customer said other painters called it too cold and too late in the season, but Pallarino said there was still time, the crew repaired and replaced rotted siding, and when the scope changed they stuck to the original estimate. In a June 2019 review, a repeat customer thought one area had been missed after a ceiling-crack repair job, and said James didn't hesitate to return. Customers also wrote about long relationships: a December 2015 reviewer said they had used James for over 16 years, and an August 2016 customer said it was the third or fourth time they had used him to paint inside. There is one mixed account. In a February 2018 Angi review, a customer said the job went ok, but when they mentioned the workers had not been on the job for a good part of the afternoon, the owner asked midway whether they wanted him to finish the job. A January 2018 customer said the original start date was pushed back a week or so. Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 4.9 stars from 72 ratings. Connecticut's registry shows its home improvement contractor license, HIC.0558946, as active.
I have worked with many contractors throughout the years. I would definitely rank James one of the top contractors I have worked with. My wife was very picky about the color. James went out of his ways and adjusted color several times for us. His crew is very professional, keeping the surrounding very clean. They did great quality work! I’ll be definitely working with James again.
I used JPP a few years ago to paint the exterior of my house. They did a great job at a very fair price. Great staff. Recently, I had them repair & paint several ceiling cracks throughout the house as well as touch up areas on the exterior of the house. Upon inspecting the completed work, I thought one additional area was to have been repaired/painted... but admitted that I could be mistaken. Since this would require a return visit in addition to the work, most would have been reluctant to do anything with no additional cost. However, James didn't hesitate to return and make sure the work was done. In my opinion, it's when there's a problem/misunderstanding that you really see how someone treats customers. Definitely recommend.
James and his crew were very professional in all aspects of their work. The foyer and hallways involved changing color of the chair rail molding, crown molding and doors. Multiple coats of paint (as well as primer) were required. All of the ceilings had been sand coated which we wanted removed. This was a massive effort involving sanding, applying compound, primer, and then paint. It came out looking fantastic. The crew provided some woodwork repair along the way as well. The crew was hard working and produced high quality work and cleaned up prior to leaving every day.
Excellent workmanship and attention to detail, very responsive. On time and ahead of schedule. Could not have been more pleased
Best paint job and nicest, most professional work crew we’ve had in 30+ years! Our house needed quite a bit of prep work and James went out of his way to make sure we were 100% satisfied with the results.
