Every homeowner who wrote about JAM Tile & Remodeling named the same man: Jose. In a 2016 review one customer said he drove them to the tile store and made suggestions, and called the crew's craftsmanship incredible; reviewers in 2010 described him showing up immediately, giving a reasonable estimate, phoning ahead the one morning he ran late, and finishing a kitchen backsplash that turned out great. Across five Angi reviews the firm holds 4.8. The catch is that all five of those reviews were written between 2010 and 2016. Nothing has been added in the decade since, so the praise describes how the business worked then, not necessarily now. The registration tells a similar story. Massachusetts holds Home Improvement Contractor registration #191581 in the company's own name and returns it expired — BuildZoom dates the expiry to 29 April 2020, lists a second inactive registration (#169983), and scores the company 0 because it cannot verify an active licence. The work is tile-led: stonework, patios, backsplashes and countertops, tile flooring, plus bathroom, kitchen and basement remodeling. A 2018 LinkedIn entry by someone who worked a summer there describes bathroom jobs covering plumbing, tiling, sheetrock and fixtures. Angi lists Spanish spoken and a Building Trades Association membership, and its two tenure figures disagree — a '21 years of experience' highlight against a blurb claiming over 11 years. This is the right call for a tile or backsplash job if the registration checks out today: ask for a current Massachusetts registration certificate and certificate of insurance before anything else, then for two or three references from the last couple of years rather than the last decade.
“Construction Laborer - JAM Tile and Remodeling ... May 2018 - Aug 2018 (3 months) in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States ... This job was focused mainly on remodeling of bathrooms which included plumbing, tiling, laying sheetrock, installing bathroom appliances, and deck remodeling.”
Project went awesome, Jose is very personable, he actually took us to the tile store and gave us suggestions. The installation process was a breeze Jose and David were so polite and respectful. Their craftsmanship is incredible. We will use these guys again.
J.A.M. Tiling completed the project in the timeframe agreed upon, provided excellent service, and went above and beyond the expectations by solving any concern I had throughout the project. I recommend J.A.M. Tiling to anyone looking for a customer service oriented bathroom remodeling team who stands behind their original quote and completes the project within the time frame agreed upon.
I was extremely pleased with Jose and his work. He showed up immediately, gave me an estimate (which I found very reasonable) and did a really good job. He was experienced, neat in his work, and called one morning when he was going to be a bit late, The finished product, a kitchen backsplash, turned out great! I would definitely hire him again and would have no problems reccommending him.
Jose and Ian did a fabulous job from start to finish. Very tenative to the process of the demolition from the water damage and re-design of original plan. I am very happy with the work performed and grateful.
Jose was neat and organized, my Tile install was done in an excellent manner. I could not be happier had I chose another.
