Walkways, patios and retaining walls brought several customers back to JC Stonecraft for more work. In a February 2025 Google review, one homeowner described hiring the company for a retaining wall and front walk, then returning for stone in the wall’s garden and a matching walkway beside the stairs. A January 2025 customer likewise described a pool retaining wall followed by another retaining wall and a patio. James Ciriello identifies himself as JC Stonecraft’s owner and operator and says he has more than 20 years of masonry and stonework experience. The business offers free estimates. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration is active, and Google shows 5 stars from 12 ratings. The 2025 customer accounts describe both new installations and changes to existing entrances. A February reviewer said the company installed a front walk and patio and resurfaced the front steps. James was responsive from bidding through completion, the customer wrote, and was on site every day once work started, cleaning up at the end of each day. A January reviewer praised a redone front entrance and steps; another described a bluestone fireplace facelift. Two customers writing in January 2025 described how earlier walkways had held up. One said James built a 60-foot walkway in spring 2023 that still looked new after several snowstorms, and praised him for keeping appointments and leaving the price quote unchanged. Another recalled replacing a cracked concrete sidewalk with pavers about five years earlier. The customer said the old concrete was removed, the pavers were laid without high spots, and the surface remained smooth. A further January 2025 customer described several completed projects: stone and brick pads, a front-door step, replacement of a foundation skim coat, a chimney repair with a new cap, and closing a wood pass-through with brick. They praised the work and said the contractor showed up when promised.
JC Stonecraft put in a new front walk, patio and resurfaced our front steps. James was very responsive every step of the way, from bidding the project to completion. Once work began, he was on-site every day and always cleaned up at the end of each day. The project came out great and we've received many compliments about the work.
We hired JC to do a retention wall and new front walk. He helped us plan the design of everything and did an amazing job. I get compliments all the time on our walkway and stairs. We later hired him to add stone to the retention wall garden and to match the walkway on the otherside of the stairs instead of having grass against the house. We love his work and will hire him in the future if we decide to do more stone work.
Professional, fair pricing, PHENOMENAL work. Any time someone comes over to my house they ask who did my patio. 100% recommend and will use anytime in the future for work needed!
James built a 60 foot walkway for me Spring of 2023. He did an excellent job, perfect in every way. It's gone through several snow storms and looks like day 1. In addition, he called when he said he would, he came when he said he would and the price quote didn't change like some other contractors are prone to do. Thoroughly reliable and professional. Couldn't be happier.
It took me 20 years but I finally had Jim re-do my front steps and front entrance. He did a great job for us.
