JJK Woodworking, listed here as JJK Construction, describes itself on its website as a family-owned custom woodworking company serving homeowners throughout Fairfield County, focused on custom cabinetry, built-ins and fine woodworking. The company says it has been at this work for more than 15 years and offers free estimates. Its written history on Houzz is a single 2017 review, and it is a hard one. That 2017 customer said they spent close to 8 weeks going back and forth with Jack on the design and stain of their cabinets, agreed to a price and turned down other bidders, and then Jack stopped answering calls, voicemails and texts. In 2017, that customer wrote that the office they expected to have built and installed was not done and they had to go back out for new bids. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0618033, as active, held by JJK Construction LLC.

“Crews responded to flames on Fifth Street Saturday night, where smoke could be seen coming from the JJK Construction building.”
After spending close to 8 weeks going back and forth with Jack from JJK Construction regarding the design and stain of our cabinets - during which time we agreed to a price and told all other bidders that we had decided to go with someone else (even though Jack was pricier) - Jack completely disappeared on us, failing to answer calls, voice-messages or texts and left us completely high and dry, and way behind schedule. I went to great lengths to communicate with Jack and give him a heads up that I'd be filing this complaint, but all to no avail. Now, instead of having our office built and installed by now (as we expected), we are first having to go back out for new bids... if we can even get them after having turned down their previous bids. I would have been understanding if Jack had at least tried to communicate a reason for not completing the job; unfortunately he has made zero effort to do so. Is he too busy? Not interested for some other reason? Doesn't like me? I have no idea and that is the problem.
