Four companies came out to quote a whole-house Generac standby generator, JN Electric among them, and a February 2026 reviewer said JN beat the rest — some by $8,000. The estimate was done at the end of January, and the house was up and running at the beginning of February. JN Electric works out of Auburn, New Hampshire, describing itself as locally owned and operated and doing residential electrical work, generator installations and gas appliance installations; its site lists a certified Generac dealer affiliation. A September 2025 reviewer names Joe Nasbaum as the owner and Alex Webman and Brian Menard as his teammates on a Generac standby install that had to reach the opposite side of the house from the gas hookup. The generator work runs in both directions — the install, then the service afterwards. A January 2026 customer had full maintenance with a new battery, plus tests of the generator, the transfer switch and the quality of the power. In a March 2026 review, a homeowner had cellular monitoring added to two Generacs, theirs and their mother's, during the yearly service. A May 2026 reviewer said Alec fixed an older generator and saved them money, doing a lot of test runs afterwards. Storms bring the other kind of call. A March 2026 homeowner had a large limb pull the wires away from the house and said Nathan looked at it right away, worked out the parts needed and fixed it. In a January 2026 review, Joe came out during a snowstorm to make sure a generator was ready before the power went. An April 2024 customer woke to no power and a Generac that wouldn't turn over in the middle of a storm, and wrote that they asked for emergency service expecting nothing. It is not all generators. An August 2026 reviewer had Joe and Connor through a new house installing bathroom and bedroom fans, changing breakers and fixing loose outlets. A November 2025 customer had an EV charger put in and called the price reasonable; another that month had JN back for a generator after earlier mini-split and new-addition wiring. A March 2026 reviewer said Joe and Connor came the day after they reached out and had the problem fixed within 15 minutes of arriving. On Google the company holds 5 stars from 185 ratings, and 5.0 from 27 ratings on each of Angi and HomeAdvisor. If you are pricing a standby generator, or want the same outfit to come back for the annual service, this is a straightforward call. Ask for the electrician's licence number, and settle who handles the gas connection and the inspection before an install date is set.
