Joset Corporation has been building on the North Shore out of Ipswich since 1984, by its own account — residential and commercial work, additions and restoration, with an in-house crew of full-time tradesmen and a one-year warranty on new work. Its permit trail shows the range better than any brochure. A $170,000 conversion of a break room into offices in Newburyport in 2010, then a $72,000 rubber membrane roof at the same address the following year. Roof, siding and foundation repair in West Newbury in 2016, decking and stair rail replacement in Danvers in 2020, a $64,000 bathroom renovation in Danvers in 2021 followed by $50,000 of office partitions there in 2022, and a chimney removal in Rowley in 2023 — eleven permitted jobs in all, one of them in the past three years. The state registry has the company's home improvement contractor registration, #102054, active. BBB grades it A+, lists 12 employees and names Eric Josephson as the owner contact, and Google carries a 5-star rating from two customers. The company's site says several of its employees hold unrestricted construction supervisor's licences, that all are OSHA 10 certified, and that it is a Massachusetts Lead Safe Renovator. The pace is the thing to ask about: one permitted job in the past three years says the shop is quieter than its history, so ask what the crew is running now and who would be on your site day to day. For an older North Shore house that needs an addition, a roof or careful restoration work, pin down the schedule and what the one-year warranty covers before you sign.
