Jun Brothers Construction's paper trail is permits, not praise. BuildZoom shows 54 permitted projects run out of 75 Lisle St in Braintree, with a typical permit around $73,000 — kitchen and bath rehabs, whole-house gut jobs, decks, roofing and siding, plus commercial fit-outs in Randolph, Cohasset and Milton that include a restaurant and a bubble-tea store. The company is listed under Simon Lam. That permit sample is the useful part, and it points at a remodeling outfit comfortable taking a house down to the studs and putting it back. What it cannot tell you is what the finished work looked like, or how the crew was to deal with day to day: the BuildZoom page carries no customer reviews at all, so the score of 99 sitting on it measures permit history, not anyone's experience of hiring them. The licensing block is the thing to pin down before you call. The same page says three different things — that no licence is required, from a check BuildZoom ran back in August 2018; that Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration #185513 is Inactive and was at one point cancelled; and, a few lines later in its own FAQ, that 185513 was active when last checked. None of that is a verified credential, and whole-home remodeling and additions are not the sort of specialty work Massachusetts exempts from HIC registration. Worth a call if you want a Braintree-area general contractor with a real permit history behind it rather than a marketing page. Ask for the current HIC registration number and check it against the state registry yourself, and ask for addresses from a few of those 54 jobs so you can go look at finished work.
