A customer whose store is the Millerton Antiques Center said Karl On Wheels has moved and shipped items sold there, a few miles down the road or into NYC, and that they have never had an issue with items being damaged. The company describes itself as serving Litchfield County, NYC and surrounding areas, says its trucks are in NYC three times a week delivering high-end furniture, and says it has been in business 7 years. A customer said Karl On Wheels moved a piano carefully for half the price another company quoted. One move went from Connecticut to Missouri, and that customer described packing, wrapping and a plan from the walkthrough. A same-day move was fit in for a customer who said everything was thoroughly wrapped and left organized at the new home. For a move to Warren, a customer said Karl, Erin and the guys loaded and unloaded everything, with Erin at the office coordinating and staying in touch. A customer who hired the company to bring antiques bought at an auction house to a NYC home said a French console table and a Secretary Bookcase were damaged, the pieces arrived in shrink wrap with no protective padding, and two bookcases never left the truck. That customer said Karl acknowledged the damage but offered restoration only after the full invoice was prepaid, and that the company is keeping the console table over the disputed invoice. A customer who praised the crew of four movers said the price doubled after a photo inventory, a partner added $2,000 two days before the move, and another $2,500 was added on moving day with the belongings already on the truck. That customer also said they were denied access to belongings in the company's storage facility until they paid the new amount.
I have a high regard for the owner, Karl. Demonstrating strong ethics and sound business practices builds lasting relationships with both clients and colleagues. If you require moving services in Connecticut, I highly recommend Karl on Wheels.
Karl on Wheels made my move seamless. They were on time, efficient, super nice, and very hard working.
So easy and quick! Moved my items safely and gently within just a few hours. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for movers! 10/10!
We have used Karl on Wheels over the years. Mostly to move/ship items sold at our store, the Millerton Antiques Center or personally to move things a few miles down the road or into NYC. They are amazingly responsive and responsible. They come when they say they will come. We've never had an issue with items being damaged. Their pricing is very fair. Best of all they are nice people to deal with. More and more rare these days.
Exceptional performance on a consistent basis. Having contracted with Karl On Wheels several times throughout its inception, I can say without hesitation that each crew has been absolutely top notch - these gentlemen are professional, friendly, conscientious, and get the job done lightening fast. These guys can handle anything from family heirlooms, fine art, and antique furniture to massive basement clean out projects. They have repeatedly demonstrated that no job is too big or too small - each treated with the same respect and dignity - we wouldn’t trust anyone else!
