A June 2026 customer says two promised branches remained uncut more than 18 months after an $8,000-plus tree-removal job, despite repeated calls and messages. That complaint sits alongside older accounts of tree removal, careful cleanup and completed stump work at Kelley Brothers Tree Service in Pittsfield. The company describes itself as family-owned, says it has 12 years in business, and states that it serves Dalton, Lanesborough, Cheshire, Windsor, Lenox, Becket, Hinsdale and Peru. It also says it is fully insured. In a November 2024 Google review, a homeowner described removal of a large hemlock close to the house and substantial trimming of another. The customer said the work took a morning, met the estimated timeline and left no debris and barely any sawdust. An April 2024 reviewer described a large pine removal and chipping, praising the cleanup of both the road and driveway. In September 2023, another customer said two pines and their stumps were removed sooner than anticipated and praised communication. A reviewer writing in August 2022 thanked the company for dealing with three dead, dangerous trees at Ventfort Hall during an emergency. The company’s BBB profile describes tree removal, stump grinding, lot clearing, forestry mulching and crane removal, as well as commercial tree services and sales of firewood and mulch. Its BBB grade is A+. Google shows 4.6 stars from 67 ratings, while Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 4.2 stars from six ratings. The unfinished follow-up described in June 2026 was not the only complaint about completion. In a November 2018 HomeAdvisor review, a customer said stump removal promised within one to two weeks never happened, and three emails and three calls went unanswered. That customer also reported more yard damage than anticipated and having to finish cleanup. A different HomeAdvisor customer writing in October 2019 praised the job but called it expensive. A June 2018 customer, by contrast, described work completed as requested within three weeks of the first call, following a property walk and estimate.
