Kinvara Excavation Inc's own site describes it as based in Dorchester, MA, though its Quincy Chamber of Commerce listing and other directory profiles put it in Quincy instead — worth confirming which is current before you call. What the reviews make clear is that this is a contractor homeowners bring in when a dig involves more than dirt: permitting, engineering sign-offs, and city red tape. In one recent review, a homeowner needed a curb cut to widen a driveway during a neighbor dispute — several people had told them city approval would be next to impossible. Owner Gerry contacted Boston Public Works directly to confirm the scope and kept the customer updated through the whole process. Another recent job was digging a foundation for a home addition in Boston; when a snag came up partway through, Gerry rearranged his schedule to keep the project on time and on budget. That tracks with its longer run on Google: twenty reviews stretching back to 2023, every one five stars, with a recurring emphasis on fair pricing, thorough site cleanup, and a crew considerate of neighbors and pets while working. Its own site lists demolition, foundation excavation, underground water and sewer work, storm drainage, grading, and land clearing as services, and states it's registered, bonded, and insured — self-reported claims not independently verified here. Before booking, it's worth pinning down which office — Dorchester or Quincy — you'd actually be working with. Beyond that, the pattern in the reviews is a contractor comfortable handling the paperwork side of a dig, permits and city sign-off included, as much as the physical work itself.

I highly recommend Kinvara Excavation. I had a challenging situation involving a neighbor dispute and needed to widen my driveway with a curb cut. Several people told me that getting the curb cut approved would be difficult, if not impossible, but Gerry was there every step of the way. From the beginning, he took the time to understand the project, answer questions, and help navigate the process. He even contacted Boston Public Works directly to confirm the scope of the curb cut work and ensure everything was done correctly. Throughout the project, Gerry kept me updated, communicated clearly, and followed through on every commitment. What impressed me most was his professionalism and respect for everyone involved. He was careful with my property, respectful of my neighbor's property despite the challenges, and completed the work with great attention to detail. The finished result came out great, and I was very happy with the quality of the work.. If you're looking for an excavation contractor who is knowledgeable, honest, responsive, and truly cares about his customers, I strongly recommend Kinvara Excavation. Gerry made a difficult project feel manageable.

Gerry was phenomenal to work with. We hired him to dig the foundation for an addition which in Boston is no easy feat. The job went very smoothly. He was easy to communicate with and when we ran into a slight issue, he was able to adjust his schedule to ensure the job got done on time and at a fair price. He definitely puts the customer first! Out of all the contractors we hired to complete the addition, he's one of the few that I would work with again. Highly recommend!
