Kitchens & Baths by Herzenberg says on its website that it has been transforming homes since 1949. On its Better Business Bureau profile, the company describes its work as kitchen and bathroom renovations, custom cabinetry and living space design, with design consultations and project coordination. Its home improvement contractor licence 103974, held by Kitchens by Herzenberg, Inc., is active on the state registry. A 2021 customer who needed room for a larger refrigerator said a designer, Vonnie, set up a home visit and designed a replacement for the cabinets that housed the old fridge and ovens, sized to fit the new appliances. That 2021 customer said "the guys showed up at the arranged time" on install day and the job was finished five hours later. A 2021 reviewer said Vonny had designed three kitchens for them. A 2022 customer said they worked with Vonnie on a bathroom and that the project was smooth. A 2016 customer said the company coordinated a kitchen project from gutting to finish work and that they could use the kitchen in about 4 weeks. A 2013 customer in Lenox said Paul Herzenberg designed an addition to a Cabico kitchen he had originally installed through the builder and arranged for a local craftsman to install the cabinets. That 2013 customer then had the company design a room divider with shelves on one side and cabinets on the other. A 2021 customer said a subcontractor the company sent to assess a repair played down how long it would take, that the invoice came with no itemization, and that when they asked for one the office manager said there was no point. That 2021 customer said the owner did not contact them. A 2016 customer said Callie drew up plans for their kitchen and noted that you won't be able to keep the drawings the company designs for you.
“the Cummings collaborated with Wood-Mode dealer Vonnie Marcyoniak of Kitchens & Baths by Herzenberg to translate their vision into ideal spaces within their own build.”
I worked with Vonnie, great experience. She is full of ideas and we got the dream bathroom we wanted! Project was smooth, we did enjoy working with Kitchens by Herzenberg.
My experience with this company was terrible. They sent a sub contractor to assess a repair. This person down played the length of time if would take to complete the repair. Once the repair was completed I received an invoice with no itemization. When I requested an itemization because I wanted to understand why the amount was what it was, I was told by the office manager that the contractor would make sure it reached the amount so there was no point. I requested the owner contact me. He didn't contact me but I am not surprised considering they way the staff behaves. The people that work for this company lack customer service skills and willingness to work with the customer. If you want a good experience with people that care I would not choose this company.
Vonny is the best!! Would definitely recommend Kitchens by Hertzenberg to anyone looking to remodel their kitchen, bath, family room etc. Vonny has a good understanding of how a kitchen functions and is very knowledgeable about the products they sell. She is with you from start to finish, and is a good listener. She has designed three kitchens for me and would not go to anyone else.
Covid-19 has presented unique challenges to all businesses. In my quest to find a replacement refrigerator in my 40 year old kitchen, I discovered that was not going to be easy. Five years ago I repainted my custom cabinets, 40 years old, to spruce things up. When in June of this year the 25 year old top freezer fridge broke, and I couldn't find anything in stock, and waited six months for two orders, I decided to just tear out that section of the kitchen and start over, so I could fit a real life size refrigerator in there. I drove to Kitchens & Baths by Herzenberg, heretofore KBH, to see what I could do. The door was locked, appointment only. Call the number and someone will help you the sign said. "Oh boy, I thought, this is going to be a project." Wrong. I went to my car, called the number and was put on a short hold while they connected me with a designer. My lucky morning, Vonnie came on the line full of life, asking me questions, getting an idea of what I needed. I was in my car, Vonnie was inside and we came to the point where she set up a home visit to check out what I needed. I alway associated KBH with huge jobs, gigantic expensive kitchens, but my reservations need not have been a concern. My small area that required tearing out the existing cabinets that housed the too small fridge and smaller yet ovens, was, by Vonnie's design, going to have the same configuration, only designed now to fit my new appliances and all with a budget that wasn't over the top. I met with Vonnie at the KBH showroom where on a large flat screen TV, my kitchen plan was a very cool visual for me to actually see what Vonnie had come up with. She had cabinets out when I got there that closely matched my existing, but 100% nicer, newer and much more up to date cabinets. She gave me a much larger deeper drawer under the new ovens, with two gorgeous cabinets over fridge and ovens. She got my style and showed me hardware that wouldn't overwhelm the rest of the design. Install day was a breeze. Vonnie called the the day before, told me what was going to happen and the guys showed up at the arranged time. They were neat and respectful of where they cut and did the their messy work. To be honest, there wasn't much of a mess. It was finished with a humming fridge five hours later. Vonnie called to check up. She was with me the whole process, keeping me posted on the order, delivery of cabinets and install time. I am beyond thrilled with my mini renovation by KBH and Vonnie. It was the least stressful home renovation I've done, but actually the biggest. Thank you Vonnie and Kitchens & Baths by Herzenberg, I am one very very happy customer!
