Lapis Surfaces, Inc.

Lapis Surfaces cuts stone in Hopedale — quartz, granite, marble, porcelain and sintered slabs, fabricated and installed for kitchens, bathrooms and custom applications. The company's site says that work runs out of its own facility of more than 17,000 square feet, so cutting and finishing happen under one roof. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #217878, is active on the state registry. The Better Business Bureau files the company under countertops and lists Suja Antoniappa as president. Two things to raise before you book. BBB grades the company C-, tying that grade to a complaint it did not answer and to the company's short operating history; ask what the complaint concerned and how it was resolved. The dates also disagree: the company's site claims five years in business, while its BBB profile lists it as started and incorporated on 12/5/2024. For a kitchen or bath countertop where one shop handles the slab from template through install, Lapis is a fair call — get the seam layout, slab selection and install date in writing, and confirm insurance before templating.
