After the July 4th storm, Reggie spoke with a customer about 15 minutes after the request for contact, at 6:45am, and was at the house by 7:30am for an emergency tree removal from the deck, according to a July 2026 Google review; the same customer then hired Lazer Scapes Tree Service to take down 17 pine trees, 3 oaks and 3 maples, all 80-100 feet tall. The Newington, Connecticut company holds 4.7 stars from 214 Google ratings and an A+ from the Better Business Bureau, and its site describes hazardous and technical tree removals and stump grinding, with 24/7 emergency service. The big jobs and the price come up together. A November 2025 reviewer with 18 trees to remove got about ten quotes and wrote that Lazer Scapes had the lowest and finished in one day. In August 2025, a customer had about 100 hemlocks removed with stump grinding and topsoil included. A September 2025 reviewer had 7 trees removed and stumps ground, done by 5pm the same day. Milton, the foreman, walked the yard with an August 2025 customer before the crew started on a large tree hanging over the house. The complaints are about the ground and the follow-through. Five reviews from 2023 to 2026 describe damage to a lawn, yard or drainage field. In a September 2026 review, a customer wrote that the crew did a good job removing trees on 3/27/26, but septic pros concluded the machinery had damaged the drainage field, and Reggie promised to pay and then stopped responding; that customer also reported fuel spilled on the driveway and street. An April 2026 reviewer wrote of substantial damage to grass and driveway and empty promises of repair. A November 2024 reviewer said machinery tore up the lawn on a job meant to be a ladder climb, and a March 2023 customer was still waiting over a month later for the last tree.
Best priced quote of the three we requested through Angi's list, arrived on time and finished well ahead of the expected time they initially shared, workers were also very friendly
Reggie came out and gave me a quote, I showed him where my septic tank and drainage fields were. He didn’t seem overly concerned. His team came out on 3/27/26 and did a good job at removing the trees we discussed. Late afternoon on 3/27 , after the crew was gone, I noticed effluent flowing into my yard from where the distribution box was Located. I let him know immediately and I had three different septic guys come out, one of them was Reggie’s own guy. It was widely concluded that compaction of the soil due to the bobcats and machinery used for the tree removal had damaged the drainage field. This is all documented. I requested that Reggie take responsibility for the cost of repairs. He knew there was a drainage field there. Every septic pro and tree removal pro I spoke with after the incident said “you don’t drive machinery over drainage fields.” He asked how much the repair would be. I got a quote from the most reasonable septic pro. Reggie said he would approach his insurance. I had to follow up countless times. It was like pulling teeth. He said he would contact my septic guy who was supposed to do the work “I’ll call him tomorrow.” Didn’t happen. I put him and the septic guy on a group text with me. Reggie didn’t respond. He would give me one excuse after another, deferring accountability. He said his insurance was gonna fight him on it and he said he would pay me in installments out of pocket if he had to. It’s all documented, I have the entire text thread, septic repair quote, etc. he told me “I put the first installment in the mail yesterday.” Nothing ever came. I asked him about it, again, and again, and again. It was like “Emails From An A-hole.” If you aren’t familiar with that, look it up, it’s hilarious, only this time it was real life and not funny. He would be MIA and then I’d send a follow-up text and he would respond and say he was sorry for not being transparent. Said he was so busy. Said he was out of the country for a while. A mountain of excuses. Gaslighting. A manufactured denial of responsibility after countless instances of him leading me on that he would pay for the repair. Just enough to shut me up for a week or so each time. I told him I can’t imagine running my business like this. Absolutely baffling. It has caused me so much stress and still in need of repairing the drainage field. But he’s full of septic material. He ghosted me. At least just be like “yeah, I’m not gonna accept responsibility.” No. Reggie went the way of a toddler, leading me on, lying, bullshitting, over and over again. Shocking really. I’m exploring legal recourse. His crew did a good job besides the damage. And spilling a half gallon or so of fuel on the driveway and street which was never cleaned up. Smelled for weeks. I fed them. I treated them right. Ask any one of them. Mistakes happen. Things get broken. I didn’t freak out. I asked him to make it right. And he did all of the aforementioned, for months and months. Now we are nearly six months later after the tree work was done. Roll the dice and use Reggie. If nothing breaks on your property, you might be happy. If nothing breaks. But if something goes wrong, I’ll bet you a drainage field that he will make every possible excuse and run scared from owning up and taking responsibility. Maybe you’ll get lucky though.
Reggie and his crew are highly recommended for tree and stump removal. My initial visit was informative about the process and my needs. This is a very professional and efficient company. The price was excellent for my service. The entire process was actually quick. Clean up was exceptional from the clearance of all wood, lawn and even the street was spotless and cleared as if they never came. I am extremely pleased with Lazer Scapes, their men and management. Thank you Reggie!
