A garage turned into living space, with a new attached garage built alongside it: that is the job a recent Google customer described Joe taking on for Legacy Construction. That customer said Joe offered guidance and suggestions throughout the project, communicated frequently and quickly addressed questions, and that they would hire him again. Legacy Construction's website lists general contracting, home remodeling, custom home building, deck and garage building, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, siding, roofing and building restoration. The company says it has been in business five years, and its stated service area runs from Portland to towns including South Portland, Scarborough, Westbrook, Gorham, Windham and Falmouth. A 2026 reviewer who described doing a few jobs with Joe as an electrical contractor wrote that "it is nice when the GC can stick to a schedule and pays on time." A 2026 reviewer who said they had worked on numerous projects with Legacy Construction over five years wrote that materials were ordered on time. A 2024 Thumbtack customer named the owner as Joe Hausler and said he remodeled the kitchen of a fixer-upper, built a custom mantle and fireplace with lighting and shelves, added crown, molding and baseboards, turned two bedrooms into three, added a bathroom and put in wood flooring. That 2024 customer wrote that a facelift 10 years later included subway tile, a new mantle and fireplace, new flooring and a new paint job throughout. A 2024 Thumbtack customer who wanted to add a master bathroom said Joe's quote was on the higher side, but he guaranteed his work. In that 2024 account, Joe rearranged the bathroom plan to fit a master walk-in closet, and the customer said the finished bathroom exceeded their expectations.
