Limoge & Sons Garage Doors is a Williston garage door company that says it has been in business 57 years. Its website lists a service area covering Williston and Chittenden, Franklin, Lamoille and Washington counties. A recent customer whose door stuck open at 9:30 on a Saturday night over Memorial Day weekend said Limoge & Sons was the only company that called back and was willing to send someone that night. A recent customer said a technician came the same day, did a temporary repair so the door could be used until a new part was ordered, and completed the repair a week later. Mike O'Grady gave one recent caller pricing ideas over the phone and identified the type of door and where to get a replacement seal from a few photos. A 2026 customer said Peter responded within an hour after a broken cable left them trapped in the garage. A 2025 customer said a new garage door motor from Limoge & Sons cost $470, against $1299 quoted by another company. A 2022 customer whose overhead cable snapped said a technician assessed, explained and fixed the problem within 20 minutes. A 2025 Reddit commenter in r/vermont said they used Limoge and Son for garage door repair a couple of years ago and found them helpful and fairly priced. On the other side, a recent 1-star customer said Limoge & Sons was about 40% more expensive than the local shop for the same door, and that they had to keep following up for a quote and never got the calls or emails back they were promised.
“I've heard good things about Limoge and Sons but their website says northern and central VT so doubt they'd go down to woodstock.”
“I know some people like using local shops, but Limoge still hit my parents with a $95 “local service convenience fee.” I didn’t even know that was a thing.”
“Being local means nothing when Limoge & Sons charged my mom $350 for “sensor realignment” that took them less time than boiling pasta.”
“Same here people keep saying “support local,” but Limoge & sons charged my elderly dad $600 to adjust a bracket. One bracket. With pliers.”
“They’re local, sure, but that didn’t stop Limoge from trying to upsell my mom on a $900 “safety package” she didn’t need at all.”
Had a great experience with Limoge & Sons. They fixed my garage door's broken spring quickly and professionally. Highly recommend their service!
Mike O'Grady was one of the most helpful people I have ever called off of Google. He gave me some good ideas on pricing for my project over the phone, answered many questions via email and could tell me the exact type of garage door I had and where to get a replacement seal for it just from a few photos. Very knowledgeable and helpful. He told me the pros and cons of replacing my garage door, whether or not side door openers could work for my project and never was salesy about what would be best for my setup. If I do end up replacing my garage door at some point then Limoge's will definitely be the company I call.
They were about 40% more expensive than the local shop for the same exact door. Had to constantly follow-up to get a quote. Never returned calls or emails like they said they would.
We had an excellent experience with Limoge and Sons! A technician was at our house the same day we called. He was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. A temporary repair was done so we could use the door until a new part was ordered. A week later the repair was complete and the price was more than fair. Cannot recommend them enough for any garage door needs.
Everything from getting a quote, to ordering the doors and then install was quick and easy. I appreciated the responsiveness from the team.
