One recent Google customer hired Louie Electric & Son to pull the knob-and-tube wiring out of a 100+ year-old home. Once the old wiring started coming out, that customer wrote, a number of unexpected issues had to be traced and resolved, and Louie methodically tested everything and made sure every light, outlet and switch was working before considering the job complete. The same customer said Louie also replaced the old electrical panel and labeled every breaker, and that Louie and his partner, Elijah, left every room cleaner than it was before they started. The company describes itself on its website as a local family-owned team doing emergency repairs, generator installations, panel upgrades and safety inspections, and lists a service area of Providence, North Providence, Cranston, Johnston, Pawtucket, East Providence and Smithfield. A recent customer said he installed an electric car charger in the garage in a few hours, after another company had said the wiring would be very difficult. A 2025 Google reviewer gave one star and wrote one word: "Expensive."
Outstanding service! We recently had him install an electric car charger in the garage. He did a fantastic job. Another company had told us it was complicated and wiring would be very difficult but it only took him a few hours. It looks fantastic and no problems. Highly recommend!
Louie did an outstanding job replacing the knob-and-tube wiring in my 100+ year-old home -- truly went above and beyond. This was not an easy project--once the old wiring started coming out, they uncovered a number of unexpected issues that needed to be traced and resolved. At no point did Louie and his partner, Elijah, cut corners or rush to finish. Louie methodically tested everything, tracked down every issue, and made sure every light, outlet, and switch was working before considering the job complete. He also completely replaced my old electrical panel. The difference is incredible. Everything is clean, organized, and meticulously done. He even took the time to clearly label every breaker, something my old panel never had. It may seem like a small detail, but it's the kind of thing that shows how much he cares about doing the job right. What impressed me most was how much pride Louie takes in his work. He treated my home with care, explained what he was doing whenever I had questions, and genuinely wanted everything to be right--not just "good enough." It was also a messy job by nature, but Louie and Elijah left every room (I swear) cleaner than it was before they started. As an unexpected kindness, Louie even helped me with a new ceiling fan while he already had everything open. He not only installed the fan, but also added a very convenient wall switch. I never asked him to do it, and it was an incredibly thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to me. If you're looking for an electrician who is knowledgeable, meticulous, honest, kind, and takes real pride in his work, I would recommend Louie Electric and Son without hesitation.
