Contracting since 1989, and the Better Business Bureau records the business as a sole proprietorship with exactly one employee — him. The work is remodeling in the broad sense: kitchens and bathrooms, additions, second stories, dormers, garages, decks and porches, finished basements, replacement windows and siding. BuildZoom's permit file lines up with that list — 28 permitted projects, a lot of them gut jobs across East Boston, bathrooms and kitchens taken back to the studs with new wiring and plumbing, rear porches torn off and rebuilt. The written customer record is short and old. One review exists, posted to BuildZoom in August 2014, and it is a five-star one: "high-quality work, excellent job, dependable, honest." BBB carries an A+ for the business, but that is BBB's own grade rather than a customer star average. On paperwork, read BuildZoom's page as BuildZoom's claim rather than confirmation. It lists an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #200173, which it says it checked in March 2026 — and, alongside it, an earlier HIC registration #111101 it describes as cancelled, plus two Newton city licenses it says expired in 2022. Ask to see the current registration and a certificate of insurance before anything is signed. The right call for a homeowner who wants one experienced person on the job rather than a crew rotating through — particularly the take-it-to-the-studs kitchen and bath renovations his permits are full of. Go in knowing you will be judging him on a walkthrough and a conversation, because there is no wall of recent reviews to lean on.
