Mack's Painting and Carpentry

Mack seemed great. Didn't have any problems with him during the project in summer of 2020. Communication was great while project was being done. Our condo association hired this company to repair the main front steps of the house. They were wooden steps with wooden banisters and they were very worn down and becoming dangerous. He changed out the wooden steps for composite material and changed out the wooden banisters for vinyl/plastic material. The new steps and banisters looked great. A few months later, however, one of the horizontal bannisters had become loose from its insertion into the vertical bannister. As part of our contract we had also hired the company to replace a missing lolly column that supported a bump out on one side of the house. The company removed the remaining lone lolly column, dug out a new hole, filled it with cement, and affixed two new lolly columns under the bump out. We appreciated the work and felt safer knowing the bump out was not properly supported. A year later, however, we noticed one of the lolly columns was loose. It was no longer supporting the weight of the bump out. We could simply slide the lolly column out of place if we wanted to, but of course did not. I called Mack's painting and carpentry several times and left multiple messages. I did not get any calls back and no one ever answered the phone when I called. I sent multiple emails to Mack's painting and carpentry but did not get any response. One of the other condo unit owners also tried contacting Mack but did not get a response. Ultimately, we the condo association are disappointed with the quality of the work and the lack of response from the company when we tried to reach out for help.

I cannot say enough compliments about Mack and his guys! From the first meet until the project was over, they were courteous, respectful of our space, and responsive. I hired them to expand a closet and turn it into a pantry and create a multi-purpose sink/dog wash and install a barn door. I'm so happy with how it all turned out. Bill was our main Jack of All Trades, and he was amazing! Wayne was our plumber, Tommy was our painter, etc. etc. They were all great guys. Definitely will call them again for future projects.

They are by far the best company to work with. Mack is the only person I will ever have paint again for me. He is so thorough, clean and fast.

It took them a while to get to the job because they're busy, but once they got to it, the work was top quality and the crew hard-working and trustworthy. They discovered rot in our recently-rebuilt front porch, treated for carpenter ants, and rebuilt and painted it. Very neat cleanup. Would definitely hire them again.
