Marino Carpentry is an Arlington residential contractor led by Matthew Marino, with active Massachusetts home-improvement and construction-supervisor licenses recorded under Marino Carpentry Services Inc. and Matthew Marino. BuildZoom identifies the business as serving Winchester and reports 29 permitted projects. Recent customer feedback is mixed. Two March 2026 Google reviewers praised Matt's responsiveness, follow-through, transparency, suggestions, and professional work. A 2023 homeowner described excellent work on a difficult home with foundation, structural, and code problems, while noting communication and site cleanliness issues. A December 2025 reviewer alleged that Matt promised work and then stopped calling, advising others to avoid the business. The strongest positive accounts point to bathroom remodels, interior-door replacement, basement finishing, structural problem-solving, and general residential renovation. The negative account is detailed but one-sided, so clarify communication expectations, project milestones, and follow-up procedures before signing. Marino may suit homeowners seeking a licensed Arlington-area remodeler for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, or whole-home work. Verify the current license records, obtain a written scope and schedule, and ask for recent references and a clean change-order process.
We always have a great experience working Matt and his team. Matt is responsive, professional, and follows through on what is discussed. The work was completed as promised and the quality really shows. It’s clear they take pride in what they do. Would absolutely recommend.
Very pleased with our experience working with Matt and Marino Carpentry. He is transparent and makes great suggestions. Some of his ideas are our favorite aspects of our home. We utilized Marino Carpentry for multiple bathroom remodels, replacement of all interior doors and for finishing our basement. I highly recommend.
The biggest liar is Matt, guy who will talk about the work, promise, make a deal with you then shake your hand and basically never call or come to fulfill the contract. The biggest B.S. guy I met. Stay away and avoid so you can save time and frustration. Hope this helps others to find honest contracts and workers. New Response: This is reply to your response; I been trying to reach out to you over the phone you provided several times and you disrespectfully never picked up or return my call. Just this speaks a lot about your customer treatment. The courtesy you are mentioning in your response was never part of our conversation, just business. The elderly man/neighbor was hoping you will do what you promised and agreed on. You don't have to spin the situation and try to find some lame excuse. It would be more respectful and appropriate to tell me that you won't be able to come or make up something else because you shake hands with me and we agreed on the price. This is contract, promise and the agreement to me. For, maybe it means nothing as you can tell from your response. I would never reach out to you and hope people will learn from this too.
Marino hired my company 603 Basement Solutions to assure he was doing the right thing by his client I respect it and he was respectful and reasonable to deal with 👍
We bought our house 2.5 years ago and it ended up being a real lemon. Foundation issues, structural problems, things not up to code, etc. Matt and his team truly did an amazing job on our home. At times the communication wasn’t always great and the job site was messy, and that’s the only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars. He’s on the younger side, which is what I attribute it to, but I must say that the quality of the work is 5+ stars and he’s got a great future ahead of him as he’ll only get better with time. Matt guided us through the whole process, helping us find ways to save on costs, informing us when options were unnecessary and could be passed on, and put us in touch with a great architect to design a new dormer. Our goal was to keep our 1912 home looking almost original in maintaining character and details, and the quality of Matt’s carpentry and attention to detail really shines through. While it was a VERY long process to gut our house and go through all of the construction, it truly is worth it and I feel that I’m getting value for my money in a home that I will live in until the day I die (and I don’t have to worry about any issues behind the walls because I know it’s all brand new). If you’re looking to renovate your home and need someone who provides great value, great craftsmanship, and an attention to detail, I would definitely recommend Matt Marino.
