MC Electric Comfort Systems in West Gardiner does both sides of the job, wiring and heat pumps, and its owner, Jon, shows up by name in the reviews. Jonathan Larrabee holds an active Maine electrician licence, MS60020920, and Jonathan Kaine Larrabee an active Maine HVAC licence, PNT17304. Google shows 5 stars across 20 ratings, and the five written reviews all date from late summer 2026. The biggest job described is a five-zone Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat mini-split system in a three-bedroom apartment spanning three floors. That September 2026 customer said Jon worked alongside lead technician Cody and Kyle, that they planned the routing to keep the installation clean and concealed, and that they also installed a 110 CFM bathroom exhaust fan and light vented through the building's double-walled exterior brick. In an August 2026 review, a customer who hired them to change a chandelier on a tall ceiling said they built scaffolding to reach it, cleaned up and hauled the old fixture away, and were kind to the family's kids and dogs. Another September 2026 reviewer said they have been a customer for about 15 years and have also had the company install HVAC systems, and one more that month described a thorough heat pump cleaning. The company says it has been in business for 10 years, offers free estimates and 24/7 emergency service, and describes itself as licensed in NH, ME and MA.
Excellent service. Thorough job cleaning our heat pumps.
Great service, expert technicians wonderful to work with None better
MC Electric did a great job as always! I have been a customer for about 15 years and Jon has always been easy to deal with and the quality of work cannot get any better. I have had them install HVAC systems as well. Highly recommend
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an excellent experience with MC Electric Comfort Systems from start to finish. Jon, the owner, was extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and great to work with throughout the entire process. He was also very hands-on with the installation, working right alongside lead technician Cody and Kyle. All three were professional, courteous, hardworking, and respectful of the property. They installed a five-zone Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat mini-split system in a large three-bedroom apartment spanning three floors. This was a fairly involved installation, and they took the time to carefully plan the placement and routing of everything to keep the finished installation as clean and concealed as possible. The workmanship came out excellent, and the system is running beautifully. They also installed a 110 CFM bathroom exhaust fan/light, which was no small job. The vent had to be run through the ceiling and then through the building’s double-walled exterior brick, requiring considerable drilling and additional work. Just like the HVAC installation, everything was completed professionally, neatly, and with great attention to detail. What impressed me most was the combination of quality workmanship, communication, and attention to detail. Jon was involved throughout the project, and it was obvious that he, Cody, and Kyle genuinely cared about doing the job correctly and making sure I was happy with the finished product. I would absolutely recommend MC Electric Comfort Systems to anyone looking for mini-split, HVAC, or electrical work. Jon, Cody, and Kyle were truly a pleasure to work with, and I will definitely be calling them again for future projects at the property. Five stars all around and highly recommended!
Will be calling MC electric again! Highly recommend! Professional, timely, great communication. Jon is such a personable guy—felt like I had known him for years the first time we met. I really appreciated the way they helped me make decisions based on their experience, and that I didn’t feel rushed. Even though I was completely clueless about electrician stuff, they made me feel comfortable, not stupid. They were extremely kind to my kids and dogs. We hired MC electric to change out a chandelier on a tall ceiling. They built scaffolding to reach it. They cleaned everything up and hauled the old one away. Very happy!
